Carlito's Méxican Restaurant — Restaurant in West Virginia

In general extremely oily to the point of losing all other flavor. I have spent a lot of time going to many 'genuine' mexican restaurants. This was at best street food, if Mexican. My experience in Mexico has many light bright flavors and dry roasts. But mostly I poorly rate this place mostly because despite telling them twice that I am EXTREMLY allergic to mushrooms, "even mushroom juice. I cant even eat food that was cooked in the same pan as mushrooms, I don't mind if it takes longer so that they clean the pans if necessary". I make it VERY clear. Mushrooms were found in more than one of the dishes I ordered. I didn't notice until it was too late. Instead of going camping, caving and kayaking I am now in a hotel room in abdominal pain, vomiting out of my back end, covered in hives, popping antihistamines and probably getting steroids from the MD tomorrow. I called and all they could say was "I told them". No culpability. If at best I am disappointed. But I am mostly angry and in pain. We expected much more since this building was recently remodeled and established as a Mexican restaurant. From the hostess to our server, everyone seemed like a bunch of zombies just going through the paces. Although the food was served in a timely manner and was hot, it lacked flavor. My wife ordered the "cheese stuffed" enchiladas rellano with beef tips, which came with no cheese inside. The cheese was on a separate plate with a bed of chopped lettuce and guacamole, both of which she requested none of, due to allergies. I ordered the fajitas Texanas, which was "just ok". I had to flag the server for extra salsa before our meal arrived, other than that he never checked on us or offered drink refills. When he was visible, he was busy sitting on a bench, playing on his phone and not paying attention to the customers. We had to flag him again for our check. When he brought it, he never asked how our meal was. There are many other options out there for us to spend our money at that provide good food and service. I doubt we will go...

Very bad service, the waitress was very rude and never came over to see how the food was. We waited for a very long periodically time for our food and some of the food was cold. Very crowded and I think that the people there have something against African American Folks because even the customers and waitress were very rude. We couldn't even say anything without the customers talking about us in very rude ways about things that weren't even true.
