We have heard great things about Rossy's Place for some time now and since we were out of church a little earlier than normal thought to try it for ourselves.
We are so glad we did! I have to say that I am sorry we did not try it sooner. The restaurant is cozy but with enough space that you are not sitting on top of your neighbors.
The server greeted us immediately and we were seated quickly. The restaurant was not packed but the pace was brisk for the servers. Our server and the others we saw were very attentive to the customers.
We chose our meals from the brunch menu and noticed that when food was brought to others tables the portions were large. I had the Rossy's breakfast. (2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, and choice of home fries, grits, or fried plantain) My wife ordered the Rossy's breakfast bowl. We also had a to go order we placed when our food arrived, chicken and waffles.
The food did not take too long and when it arrived, it was a large portion. I will just say that each meal was delicious! While some might say "how can you screw up eggs, bacon, and sausage? I would say, it can be done.) However mine was great, cooked as I wished and the home fries had a wonderful seasoning that made them stand out over others I have had. My wife's breakfast bowl was full of sausage, scrambled eggs, cheese, and sausage gravy. She was quick to say it was fantastic.
The take home order came with the check and even though we were both very full, it was enough to make me think I wad hungry again. My son ate it later in the day and said it was very good.
We were so very glad we stayed and ate Rossy's Place today and there is no doubt we will come back again. There are so many great choices on the menu for us to try.
So if you are in Charles Town or Ranson, and happen to be close to Flowing Springs Road, PLEASE stop at Rossy's Place and give them a try. You will not be...
Read moreSimply put, Rossy's is the absolute BEST place in the Ranson/Charles Town/Harpers Ferry area!!! Finally a place that offers FRESH food, a great family environment, and consistently GREAT food - EVERY TIME!!!
Rossy's Chicken has been featured in multiple National stories as "the Best chicken in WV," and if you've had it you understand why! Rossy's Chicken (served 'fried chicken style) offers a very generous portion AND you can also order the Country Fried Chicken that is a boneless breast breaded to perfection that is INCREDIBLE!! Either of these with their mashed potatoes makes for a hearty meal that will will bring you back!! I've ordered the the chicken too many times to count and EVERY TIME it came out 100% PERFECTLY!! It has NEVER been under/over cooked - the way they cook it is AMAZING!!
Let's be clear - Rossy's offers FRESH, food that is prepared with "home cookin' love" you can taste! This is NOT a fast food joint grabbing a generic frozen burger and tossing it on your plate! Each meal is/can be personalized to taste and they do not hesitate to let you order everything however you'd like it!
It's hard to pick favorites here, but if you're doing lunch, their burgers are made fresh with a beef mixture that is moist and easily the best burger in WV! I recommend going "Bistro Burger" for Rossy's sauce, but if you order the Cod Sandwich -be sure you're hungry; it's big!
You can't go wrong with any entrée, but I've never had meatloaf like this! Grab some Sante Fe Egg rolls as a starter and your night just GREAT!!!
You'll never meet sweeter people that care so much about your dining experience...and I haven't even mentioned their mixed drinks that I'd put against ANY BARTENDER IN THE STATE!!!
Find your new favorite place NOW! Rossy's is the absolute BEST and it's great to finally have a go-to place with such an awesome...
Read moreUnfortunately I have to take my 5 start review back after today's experience. I ordered breakfast for my husband and I. I picked it up and when I opened the box to eat, the crispy tortillas were soggy and full of sauce. I live 2 minutes away so it was not a long distance for me to drive. I tried to eat my meal (huevos rancheros) but I couldn't. Called to recommend then to pack the potatoes and the sauce in a separate container to avoid this issue in the future but the answer from Rossy was "we don't sell food to go but ok". Then I decided to drive back to show them the food. Rossy's response was: "maybe you moved the container when you went home" - no that is not the reason the tortillas were just swimming in sauce and all soggy. When I explained to her that that was not the issue and that the problem could be avoided if the potatoes were packed in a separate container she said " I'm sorry we don't sell breakfast to go and if I use a cup to pack it separately it will cost me more" - So if you don't sell breakfast to go why did you sell it to me? If you are concerned about the cost of the cup why didn't you charge me for it so I could have a good meal and not a soup? That is not the answer the owner should have given me. She didn't even offer to make it right until one of the employees offered to re make my meal. I declined his offer because at that point I had no appetite. After all this, it seems like I lost the $15 dollars I paid for those huevos rancheros and I didn't have any breakfast today. Horrible customer service!!! I will dispute the transaction with my bank and I will NEVER go back to...
