So far, after my 2nd attempt at eating here, I can only give them 4 stars. Mainly because the insane wait times do not reflect the quality of food. That is not to say that the food is bad or of poor quality by any means. My first visit resulted in walking away empty handed because there was an one and half hour wait to sit down. Understandable, the place isn't very big so no worries. Next time. My second visit was an online order. The order was supposed to be ready (according to the website) at 4:51pm. The order was not ready until 5:30. However I expected such delays and planned ahead. Especially after reading the reviews and based off of my initial impression from my in person visit the week prior. I ordered the Two Protein bowl with chicken and steak, noodles and vegetables. The flavors were ok. Nothing spectacular about the sauces at all. The crab Rangoons are good and not sweet like most places around here so that's a plus. The potstickers claim to be filled with chicken and veggies. They were mostly chicken and some cabbage. Not really much flavor to them either without the sauce. The mad sauce is tasty enough with some heat on the back end but mostly is a combination of chili powder red pepper flakes and Sriracha mixed with ketchup or something to that effect. Sort of like a barbecue sauce. The portions are very generous for the price though. I got the large and my wife got the regular, we both have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. 😁 The noodles are not the thick udan noodles that you typically get from Asian cuisine here locally. They were more spaghetti noodle shaped and sized. The pieces of cabbage could be cut smaller and the stem butt pieces removed. Nobody likes eating the stalk of a cabbage plant. The meat was well cooked and seasoned but as a flavor profile as a whole I give the food a 3 star. Nothing wowed me with the flavors. Hopefully the food will become better as they age and grow and get a consistent chef, but this I'd also a chain restaurant so I know they have constraints. They may not be fast food but they certainly aren't made to order gourmet cuisine either. Just some where in between and that's perfectly acceptable for the layout and design of this facility in their infancy. This review is not intended to be a complaint on the service or the food. Everything was on par for a one month new restaurant to our area. This was merely a critique of my experience with...
Read moreHad been excited to eat there and love teriaki chicken. But the food was disappointing. The chicken was like burnt and seemed to taste like made on charcoal grill. But ok when i covered it with a bunch of extra teriakioff the table. But the rice was horrible an unfixable. I will give them that rice is hard to cook. Why I buy and fix only instant because I know my limitations. But I am not running a restaurant that serves rice in virtually every meal... you would think they would be decent at it. Truly this was the worst made rice i have had in my life. Honestly, even I could do better than the big sticky starch ball that was formerly rice they served. We ate in the dining area instead of take out. The People working were nice and friendly. There is unlikitedbpepsi products and I had a spill of a drink while there and they helped take care of it with a smile. We enjoyed the music they had playing there and everything. We used an introductory code in the app so between the 2 of us that went, we got a free bowl to for just starting out using the app. But when the day is done it was still overpriced for what they gave us and the food was not prepared well. Later on the way home hours later, we stopped at number one kitchen on the west end to go... got a meal for 2 that was much better had more food and cost less than this place was even using the coupon (but no drinks and they do not have dine in, but the food was way superior.). May have been an off day for them or something teriaki maddness, but Doubt if will return. Basically Very disappointed in the food quality and price could have been better. For what it is worth the teriaki bowl at other places like hot head burritoes in portsmouth or even the jack In the box in Phoenix az have much better teriaki bowls and they are not even teriaki or...
Read moreToday was my first visit to Teriaki Madness and I will give an honest review. I appreciate good food and have a broad range of tastebuds, as well as a large appetite. Ordering was quick and it only took about 10-15 min to receive our order. We did get there just before a wave of people hit, but that seems to be a norm. Waves in and out. My wife and I both ordered a large two protein bowl. Spicy chicken and spicy steak with noodles and vegetables. The vegetables are broccoli and cabbage. I thought it was an excellent choice together. I like the crispness of the cabbage, although my wife would like to seen it cooked/steamed a little longer. The broccoli/cabbage was perfect for me. The noodles were really good. The chicken and steak was awesome. The flavors were more than I expected. I was really impressed. The two went great together. They had sauces on the table. The food didn’t need anything, but the addition of the Teriaki sauce, for me, just added to the flavor. For what appears to be a “fast food joint”, Teriaki Madness has flavors better than most restaurants within 200 miles of this place. I’ve read all the previous reviews and seems like they’ve ironed out any possible issues some may have had. We will be a returning customer. I’m so glad to see more eateries in the area and especially ones with a fresh new menu. It’s nice to be able to have variety. We hope the best for the owner and that this place stays around for...
