Walking into the Coffee Tree Roasters, you're immediately greeted by a wonderfully cozy vibe that promises a delightful coffee experience. However, if your heart is set on an espresso or americano, you may be a bit disappointed. Their use of an automatic espresso machine produces a shot that tastes similar to what you'd expect at Dunkin’ or Sheetz (not a specialty coffee shop). Which is disheartening... the Coffee Tree Roasters across Pittsburgh used to have amazing coffee! But ever since the chain as a whole switched to automatic machines, the quality of the drinks has plummeted. IMO, if I’m going to spend $5 for an americano, I'd like to see the barista manually pull the shot themselves… not just press a button. While the automatic machine may streamline the process, it unfortunately detracts from the overall quality and experience that justify the price.

That being said, if your preference leans towards super sweet or flavored coffee drinks, this coffee shop could still be a great fit for you. The ambiance is undeniably inviting, making it a nice spot to study or catch up with friends. It's just a matter of what you're looking for in your coffee experience. If you're looking for an espresso or americano, I just think there are better...
