They need to get a person that understands English on the phone. I ordered through Uber Eats and it took me 15 minutes for me to explain a sentence to them and he said he couldn’t put the sauce on the side as it was the “law” and that he couldn’t change it to sauce on side.. when it the menu clearly shows the sauce on side is an option. After 20 mins on the phone he relunctanly changed the order to all golden olive for the whole chicken — and magically understood English and no longer complained about how busy the place was. I dunno how hard it is to make sauce on side.. as in my opinion it’s less work for him to mix the sauce on the chicken, but that’s not the reason for my low review.
I ordered a whole chicken (34$) and all the chicken parts including the breast and thigh were cut into small pieces with the bone… they were cooked so much it was just skin and bone (practically burnt) and no meat. Any meat there actually was, was all dry or burnt. Also the only flavor that’s decent is the plain golden olive (which is delicious when not over cooked and burnt). I can make better sauce at home in my opinion, but I can see why other people like it. Almost $40 for burnt chicken and sharp dangerous bones is not worth it. They will not only lose customers if they continue serve chicken this way, but it’s a severe choking hazard.
The kimchi fried rice is mehh. Not bad, but not good.
The wings I ordered were good tho, but overpriced at $18 for small order (8 wings) and $36 for a large order. And the radish side is too sweet in my opinion.
Place has potential though. Hopefully...
Read moreCame here twice now around 6pm on weekdays and there were plenty of seats open. Staff is friendly and attentive. There's even buttons at the table to call them over which is cool.
I agree with some other reviewers. If you're dining in, your food will come out at wildly different times because it's cooked-to-order. The pros are that your food comes out piping hot and fresh but yeah you might be done your first entree before the 2nd one even comes out.
The food here is great though. Really enjoyed the so-tteok. Great texture and flavors. The tteok-bokki I tried with, and without cheese. The cheddar cheese tasted weird to me. I think most cases, when other Korean places add cheese to their meals it's usually mozzarella. Which would impart a more neutral and creamy texture. So the 2nd time I got it I did without cheese and it was much better. Wish it was less sweet, but modern Korean food seems to be leaning sweeter. The eggs are also massively overcooked.
First time we came we got the honey garlic chicken. It was fried perfectly and had delicious flavors but it was overly salty. Needed to pound water after that one. 2nd time I came back we ordered the Galbi chicken and that was really delicious. Not too salty and the flavor was excellent.
So there definitely could be improvements but still enjoyed what I had. Will be back to try their...
Read moreOrdered original gold. Mediocre chicken. Insufficiently marinated and lightly fried. DAK chicken in Warren is far better. Some Popeyes can be better too. By the way, even the original is spicy, and kids can’t have it - I tried….
I ordered ahead of time because I was aware of the wait time and I had a toddler with me. When we went in to pick up the order, there were only two people dining in and my toddler wanted to eat at the table. Before I sat down, we were told we weren’t allowed to dine in. When pressed for the reason, he stuttered and said because we ordered pick up. I couldn’t understand why we had to be kicked out given that we were about to eat their own food, and the shop was pretty much empty, and I was managing a toddler who begged me to eat the table. There was no mentioning as to no dining in with pick up order when I called and looked up. Do they get tips when people dine in? But it’s no fine dining. Even if it’s about 2-3 dollars tips, it was also astonishingly arrogant to have zero flexibility. Will never come back or recommend. We all deserve better food and a fair...
