The Shoreliner: Much More Than “Beach Food”!
There were so many positives about my experience at The Shoreliner I don’t know where to start. My 34 year old son had suggested a visit to the grand opening for breakfast before we began a day of family activities. Joining us were his wife, his brother (my other son) and my 6 year old granddaughter. We were worried about finding parking, but there was plenty this early in the season.
We were all amazed how close The Shoreliner was to the ocean. We were literally feet away from the waves. The roar of the ocean provided the ultimate ambience. They had outdoor seating, which we didn’t expect since The Shoreliner is a to-go food establishment. Turns out we didn’t have “to go”. We were able to eat our breakfast while enjoying an incredible ocean vista!
I had the French Toast which has to be tasted to be believed. I had no expectation of finding the best French Toast I ever had at a food trailer at Misquamicut Beach…but I did. The menu selection was unique and it was obviously created with high quality ingredients at the forefront. We couldn’t eat everything but we had fun reading the menu and debating which items tasted the best. We weren’t surprised to discover that the menu was developed in collaboration with a professional chef. Another tidbit that defied our expectations.
My older son has dairy issues and was thrilled to find they had “Overnight Oats” which included rolled oats, cocoa, maple syrup, and fruits. He was warned that the food wasn’t dairy-free because of residual butter on the grill but he is fine as long as dairy is minimal. He rated Overnight Oats as five stars. My other son had the Tuscan Bun which is scrambled eggs with arugula, pesto, and a meat called stracciatella de burrata. Don’t ask me what that is but my son loved it.
Being the grand opening we were able to chat with the new owner Justin. He was raised in Westerly but moved away after college. He is returning to his roots. His passion was evident and I am certain The Shoreliner will become a beach fixture. We can’t wait to return ourselves and next time we may try...
Read moreBrought my three girls here on father's day, the service and food were phenomenal. I started the with the Hot Lobster roll. I am able to eat Lobster rolls all the time, since I am a seafood dealer. This one was among the very best. Then I got a little bit adventurous and tried the Qebab (pronounced cha-bob), which was not what I expected. I was thinking meat on a stick. I was pleasantly surprised when I received my order to find what looked like sausage links (its not its all beef) on a very good looking roll. On the side, it comes with tsatziki sauce, pickles and onions sliced perfectly to fit on the roll. When I bit into the qabab I was delighted by the savory bites of grilled meat which was complimented by the high quality roll and sides. The staff told me that the qebab is of Albanian origin and now I have to plan a trip to try more Albanian cuisine. My overall experience at the shoreliner was extremely positive. The relaxed atmosphere and beach front views made for an extremely nice meal with...
Read moreIt's awesome to have such a great spot to go and indulge in a unique and thoughtful menu (as opposed to the same fried food you get at every other beach ordering window) while sitting and listening to the waves crash, feeling the breeze off the ocean, and playing a little "swing ring". I highly suggest the hot lobster roll and beach burger. Yes, together. The perfect surf and turf as far as I'm concerned. And, of course, Dels to wash it down and some gelato to cap it off. Yum! And the whole crew down there are a delightful bunch of beach lovers so be sure to ask questions and say hi. Thank you, Shoreliner!! See you...
