China Buffet — Restaurant in Westfield

The food was really good, as was the service. They tended the food bars well and were good to get drink refills and clear dirty dishes from the table. They have a great variety of food choices, so if you leave hungry it is your own fault.

A word of warning/caution: be aware of the time you go in. Their lunch time ends at 4:00 pm, (at least on Saturday it did), and after 4:00 pm not only do their prices change, so do your choices of food. We arrived a few minutes before 4:00 pm and were charged the lunch price. However, there were a couple of things I wanted to try off two of the bars and when I went to get the items the man, (I assume the owner), approached me and said, "The seafood is not with the lunch price. Only the dinner price." He said we had only paid for lunch, but if we wanted to pay the additional for dinner then we could do that. My daughter had paid the ticket so I did not even know how much it was. I told him no. He was pretty nice about it, but it really shocked me. I told him I did not know what their lunch and dinner times were and that I was shocked lunch went until 4:00 pm, but would know the next time. I only wanted to try a couple of the shrimp dishes. I had put only four coconut shrimp on a plate, (that is all I wanted), when he approached me, so what was I supposed to do with the food? He said I could go ahead and eat it but not to get anymore of the dinner items. I will not make that mistake again! I got two dessert cream puff things....after asking him if they were on the dinner menu....to go with my four coconut shrimp and...

Food is consistently good and that's why I ordered from here, but I ordered takeout I didn't do the buffet. I ordered an item that they normally serve on the buffet but I ordered it in such a way that it would have to be made fresh. They didn't do that they took some from the buffet line and cooked it some more it added red pepper flakes to it. I know that because I myself am an experienced cook anytime you reheat a reduction it will turn into a paste like substance. The sauce that normally is in this dish was more like jelly because it had been reheated and the chicken was stringy because it was overcooked, it was cooked the second time. I still paid full price for it though.. this is a good restaurant for the buffet but they shouldn't be taking shortcuts with takeout...

I normally don't get so negative, but this is the worst "Chinese" food I've ever eaten. Extremely low quality ingredients. Low quality cooking. Completely unseasoned. Portions are tiny. Lomein noodles are low quality, the sauce is flavorless. The meats are very very low quality and under cooked. The fried rice is low quality. No flavor, no seasoning, low quality meat. Egg drop soup is gross. Tastes like plastic and mop water. The consistency is more egg than soup. The crab rangoon has no crab in it. Plain cream cheese, no onions, no seasoning. Don't eat here, there are better microwave meals. The positive reviews...
