We went New Year's Eve and this review may not reflect Emma's true colors. We have been there in the past and found the food to always be hot and tasty. New Years dinner out can be hectic for restaurant owners as menu items change for the evening as was the case for Emma's. They offered three appetizers and 5 entrees. We were dissapointed as we came for items we had in the past and their extensive menu was drastically chopped. However, my husband ordered scallops and I the filet, with calamari for an appetizer. Calamari is always delicious. Hot with plenty of sauce. Salads were standard as expected. My husband enjoyed his scallops although there were only 5 medium scallops on top of his risotto. Tasty. My filet was cooked as I ordered but was barely warm. One tiny lobster claw topped the steak which sat on top of what looked like brown potatoes. It would have been better to have the potatoe on the side. When ordering, I asked for a side of pasta which I was told was not available. Emma's is basically Italian yet did not provide any Italian dishes that we go there to enjoy. Service was less than acceptable as I our forks were taken with the salads and I had to get up and take silverware off anther table. Bread arrived at the table next to us with their appetizer, yet we had to ask for bread after we finished our appetizer and after getting our salads. Not Emma's typical service. Also disappointing was that we were not given all the sauce for the calamari we brought home. At $15 for the appetizer, the remainder of the sauce should have been included... Not a tiny plastic tarter sauce cup. New Years Eve dinner was not a hit wth us this year. We will return to Emma's but not for any future...
Read moreI’ve had many great experiences at Emma’s and was excited to bring my significant other there with my parents for his first time. Our waitress was rude and it felt like she was rushing us before we even received entrees. She brought over 4 wine glasses, put down the bottle and told us to pour our own wine then walked away. That itself was the most unprofessional thing any server has ever said to me. Despite very limited gluten-free options, my food was great. As someone with a gluten allergy, I like to double check that my food isn’t going to make me sick before I eat it. I politely asked a nearby waitress who looked at my food and told me it definitely wasn’t GF, so she took it away - no problem. Only to have our condescending waitress bring it right back saying “it’s gluten free, that’s just how it looks.” Well ok then! To top it off, there were live fruit flies in the Parmesan cheese shaker that the others sprinkled all over their food before realizing. The manager was polite and apologetic. Sadly, the snippy waitress and flies are enough of a reason for me to not go back. To be treated so poorly by someone you are leaving a generous tip for just did...
Read moreI went to this restaurant on Saturday night, 4.5.25 with my date. We walk in, immediately everyone is staring, the staff included. The bartender is behind the bar with a big glass of red wine. The staff kept staring, but took at least 8 minutes to acknowledge us when the bartender with the wine yells "the hostess will be with you". Young kid comes over seats us, we watch for 25 minutes while the wait staff goes to every table but ours, mind you, everyone is still staring. I told my date, 5 more minutes, the time we had already spent was too long for me, we're leaving. 30 minutes and the wait staff has still not come to our table, I finally say let's go and we leave. As we are leaving, the same bartender drinking wine on the job yells, "thanks, have a nice night". Took everything in me not to respond to her since that's most likely what she expected. I will never order food from here, nor go here again. I'm an African American female and my black dollars can stay right in my pocket. I have never been treated like that before. Gross behavior, owner should rethink who they have representing their business, unless their cool with that...
