Visited on a hot late June Saturday afternoon. They had their large garage door open to the outside patio, which is a nice feature. Later in the evening, they had a band playing on a stage outside. The beer is pretty good for a small craft brewery. The 2 IPA's on their list were well crafted. The food menu is very limited, and was even more so on our visit, with salads and wings crossed off the menu (literally). Ordered a supreme pizza which was below average taste, and judging by the speed it was ready, likely a pre-made frozen variety. There were no waiters/waitresses and just 2 people behind the bar. It took patrons a while to figure out that you just sit where you want and all orders for food and beer are taken at the bar. They give you a pager to alert when your food is ready, but never told us to go to a different counter in the back to pick it up. So, we waited in the long line at the bar when our pager went off, only to find out that was unnecessary after we had waited patiently. The lines got long after 6 PM from the crowds of families coming in from travel youth sporting events at Grand Park just across the highway. My advice: go for a beer, not the food; avoid the weekend nights; understand it's lightly staffed (although the 2 bar tenders did work very fast!). An additional recommendation: try the Four Finger Distillery 3-Knock Old Fashion....
Read moreLet's start at the beer, plenty to choose from I drank their Hefeweizen And it was great. They had others I wanted to try, but had limited time. We purchased some brisket some loaded potato salad vanilla slaw and a hot dog with pulled pork and fried onions on top. We did not care for the loaded baked potato salad it seemed like it was just potatoes cut up not truly a cold potato salad the slaw I did not like it was a vanilla slaw and they told you it was so really no complaints except wasn't my cup of tea. The hot dog and pulled pork it was great. I would have liked it better without fried onions I will remember that for next time. The only real complaint we had was the bun for the hot dog was not good. In my opinion it should be a softer bun not what was served but then again I am not the cook. All in all it was a good experience I would go back again for sure. we met Wade who is one of the managers partners? And I bought a growler of...
Read moreMan, I love this place. It's straddling the border (literally) of a big, progressive city (Indianapolis) and corn fields. It's huge, airy and has BBQ, popcorn, old school video games, and, most importantly for me, some of the best malty beer in the state. Yes, they do a mean IPA, too, but I like Grand Junction because they keep on their epic dark beers all year round. Some of the experimental batches Mike (the brewer) has conjured up of recent have been as good as any beer I have had in the 1500-2000 logged on Untappd. Dog friendly, great service, huge beer selection. I think some people may not like the limited menu. If you want pub grub, tenderloins, wings, fish and chips, etc. go to their main headquarters a few blocks away. This is more of a hang out spot than a dining one. I like 30 miles away and am here...
