We decided to try this place out because it was receiving a lot of positive reviews on Facebook. We went into the restaurant to order, around 6 pm on a Friday. It was not too busy and we did not have to wait to place our order. We ordered at the counter and took it to go.
The food was received quickly. To start with what went well… the yas sauce was yummy and The tater tots were crispy. That’s all that was enjoyable really.
We ordered 3 sandwiches- the yas og, the yasville hot and the yas supreme. We also got the chicken and waffles, a side of tots, the shrimp pops and 2 lemonades. The sandwiches were smaller than expected, and the chicken was thin, dry and lacking flavor. The yas supreme was supposed to have coleslaw, but the one we received did not. So it was just a sad chicken sandwich with yas sauce and 3 teeny slices of pickle. Pretty pathetic for a $14 sandwich.
The waffles with the chicken and waffles tasted like they had been cooked much earlier in the day and reheated and they were surprisingly greasy for a waffle.
I honestly can’t believe this place has even opened the doors for business. It’s pretty dumpy looking inside. Scattered chairs and tables and a sense of grim everywhere. I would have enjoyed the food even less than I did at home if I had sat there and ate it bc the atmosphere is so unwelcoming. Looks aside, we paid over $70 to feed our family of 4. They didn’t even make everything correctly, and the food was mediocre at best. We all agreed that while edible, this was a “one and done” and we won’t be...
Read moreAt first I was nervous to see ANOTHER fried chicken place pop up in Westfield. I was pleasantly surprised though. The prices at first might seem a little higher than youd expect but the portions are HUGE. I got the 3 piece tenders with Mac n Cheese and my friend got the chicken and waffle sandwich. The tenders i got were huge and I couldn’t eat all 3. The mac n cheese had a seasoning mix in it, i wanna say old bay but i could be wrong, that added a nice change of pace you see from the normal mac n cheese at any counter service place. The sandwich was crazy. The waffles were delightful and once again, the chicken was huge. My friend split it into 2 meals. Our lemonades were above par but not mind blowing. I suspect it might have been watered down by mistake as this was opening week so kinks need to be worked out. Speaking of, the seating area is barebones. Functional but reminiscent of an undecorated school cafeteria. If allowed by the landlord, maybe they can get local artists to do murals on the walls. If not, see about partnering up with local artists who have pieces to display like Comfort Bagel or Two Rivers Burritos downtown too. A personal gripe i have that doesn’t affect my rating: the logo for them gives me a suspicion of it being AI. I know it saves money but I can see, if it is, being a detractor. Go down and give them a chance, i was originally fearing this would be a CostCo-Core establishment but i was...
Read moreSad to say I got home and I’m re-frying my chicken. It was not crispy at all was wondering why it wasn’t like the other times I went and half way through I realize my tenders was very raw. I spent $70 and now it’s closed i can’t even go back. I’m very unhappy. I’m a cook as well so I’m very disappointed being served raw meat… especially feeding my kids as well. Mac daddy meal, 3 pc tender meal, chicken and waffles meal, munchkins parm fries for two of my meals, passion lemonade. For the money spent I expect my food...
