Houlihan's — Restaurant in Westlake

Trouble started as soon as we came in. Waited a long time just for a hostess to greet us and take us to a table. Then the waitress assured us that we would have ample time to enjoy our appetizers before our main dinner was brought out. Waited forever for drinks, and the appetizers were brought out WITH the main meal which was so big we could not fit it all on the table.nWhen we showed shock of what happened, he simply put it all on the table and walked away. Then the waitress came by with all the other meals and simply dumped it all on us without a word. NOBODY CARED. They never came by with plates or straws.I had to go in and ask. They never offered to refill our drinks. The manager came by and showed no remorse;no feeling;just offered us a free desert. Like that was supposed to restore our ruined evening. When she saw how upset we were, all she said was "Is there anything else I can do for you." As she said this our table was covered with dirty dishes.NOBODY showed any feelings or remorse. The manager was like a robot. No feelings. It was like the "Twilight Zone." Worst experience EVER. Everyone in there saw how ruined our evening was, and simply walked away. Don't know how they all could let this happen,but they did. Never did ANYONE even TRY to make us happy. My husband and I have enjoyed many meals at Houlihan’s in the past. We were looking forward with great anticipation to a “post vaccination” Easter dinner with my husband’s sister and her friend. These ladies had never been to Houlihan’s before and probably never will again! What a major disappointment. !

First of all , we were seated at a table on the lowest level which was not centered correctly . One side was way too tight while there was plenty of space on the other side. It was bolted to the wall , so it couldn’t be moved. We mentioned this to the server and asked for another table but she said there were no others available which was not true. As a result, the two ladies ate their meal squeezed against the wall.

The server was , to say the least, barely present. She took our initial order, then disappeared for 15 minutes, never clearing the table so other dishes could be ordered, never brought fresh silverware after taking ours away, and never asking if we wanted drink refills. The food was very mediocre and tasteless. The salmon was dried out, ham very fatty, and the prime rib tasteless. The desserts looked and tasted like dried out grocery store items. We ate at 3 and the restaurant didn’t appear to be super busy . I hope the management takes these comments seriously because , as I stated, we are long time customers. We were here to give this place another try for their Easter Buffet. The price was $38.95 per person. It was supposed to include a variety of advertised items, including salads and desserts, that were missing. The drinks, which were supposed to be included, were an additional charge. Every single item I took from their small buffet was completely cold. I asked for a well-done prime rib from their carving station and received a totally raw and very cold piece of meat. We did ask again if we could get something cooked, but were told that I would have to take it to the kitchen myself. The service was terrible this time. Our waitress tried to remember everything but forgot half of what everyone ordered and had to take their orders again. Later on, she asked me if I wanted a refill and never came back until we were just about to leave.

8/2024 Patio was closed and was really warm inside. They were unable to keep our large group together even though we had a reservation well in advance. Our server provided great service but service in general was really slow though the restaurant was a little busy. Food was good but the portion sizes were small, especially for the price.
