Yuzu King Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Westlake

We ordered cheese ragoons, which do have imitation crab in them. They were large in size & portion. Their sweet and sour sauce is homemade with a wonderful citrus flavor. The salad dressing was so good being mostly mango flavor, but the salad needed cucumber and carrots or something. It was just romaine lettuce and needed something to help it feel refreshing. We ordered a spicy crab roll. It was very tasty & looked gorgeous. I had chicken teriyaki with veggies and white rice. I could get brown rice, but not fried rice due to portions per our waitress. It was very good! My teenage son had chicken soba noodles. It was also very good! I feel like each food item was priced well and everything was full of flavor.

They do not have adult beverages. They have four soda options in a can and several types of tea. They do not offer refills and each can is pricey. My daughter said her water tasted funny. Hopefully, this is something they can work on.

Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It is a small place, so it cannot fit a lot of people at once. However, it is very cute and clean. Bathroom is very clean, but no paper towels... which I HATE! Especially for those new mom's out there!

I've been looking forward to trying out Yuzu King ever since I saw their sign go up. Yesterday I called an order ahead and they let me know it would be ready in 15 minutes.

Stopped inside and the employees were friendly and all wearing masks. I was thankful to also see hand sanitizer next to the credit card machine since that's a high-touch point. Though the employee was doubtful, their credit card machine does accept tap-to-pay from things like Google Pay or certain credit cards.

I ordered the chicken katsu which came with salad, miso soup, and rice. It was delicious and delightfully crispy. I also ordered some inari sushi and the sweet vegetable roll which were very tasty. When the employee brought my food she let me know the sushi chef also included a sample for me to try out. It was a salmon tempura roll and I quite enjoyed it.

Overall I was very satisfied with my order and plan to return for more. My only complaint is that it was a lot of plastic and styrofoam to throw away. I think next time I'll ask for no soup/salad and request not to include any plastic forks/spoons to cut down on that. Though it would also be great to see them use something like paperboard take out...

My wife and I went out for a date night and had so much a wonderful experience here. We started off with salmon and Yuzu sauce which had a citrus and spice undertone. I got the jasmine tea which was unsweet with a floral body and my wife got the house green tea that had a rich earthy flavor. We split the Maki combo and got the triple spicy, Alaska, and sweet potato rolls. Of them all, the sweet potato roll was my favorite, it had a very nice surprise flavor that was sweet and crisp. I got the Yuzu roll and my wife got the winter roll. Come to find out, all the sauces (with the exception of only the eel) are all made in house…and wow can you tell, they were all excellent. Even the salad has a house made citrus dressing that was refreshing. Not only was the staff beyond helpful and friendly but the restaurant was very well kept, the bathrooms were clean, and the chef was very generous. 10 of of 10 recommend, we will absolutely be back!!
