Though Iām quite upset, Iāll try to be brief. I did sufficient research before choosing action vacuum to refurbish my Dyson ball 2 vacuum. They had 4.8 stars and 48 reviews and I read all of them, and seemed like a better choice than other vacuum repair shops in my area.
I called them multiple times to ask how much it would cost to refurbish this vacuum and they always quoted me $120 which was significantly more than other places. However, they told me it would include detailed inspection, the changing of filters, belts, thorough cleaning, and any repairs to ensure that the final state of the vacuum was ārefurbished.ā
Google defines refurbished as: āRefurbished refers to an item that has been previously owned or used but has been restored to a like-new or good working condition. This process usually involves inspecting, repairing, and replacing any faulty parts, cleaning, and sometimes repackaging the item."
Key words here are inspecting, repairing, replacing, and cleaning. Action Vacuum literally did none of these. They only changed the filters. They told me they would call me when it was ready by the weekend and didn't even call me, I had to call them and they informed me it was "ready." When I brought the vacuum home, it was still just as dirty as when I dropped it, still making noises when vacuuming and suction still wasn't like new. This tells me that there was no inspecting, repairing, replacing, or cleaning. So they essentially charged me $100.00 ($20 less than their originally quoted price) for literally just changing the filters.
Search on google states it can cost $30-50 to get just the filters changed professionally for Dyson ball 2 vacuum, and I could've easily done it myself but I wanted all of the other stuff done which I didnāt have time for.
I very much feel like I've been lied to, duped, and robbed, and that's not a good feeling for anyone, let alone a brand new customer, to have. If their definition of refurbishing (contrary to rest of the world's) is simply to change filters and then charge $100 for it, then they should've explicitly stated that, and I would've happily taken my business elsewhere.
I've taken the time to state my experience with them factually so others can be forewarned as I now wish I had been.
Also, I'm of light brown skin and non-white descent. I hope and believe that this didn't play any factor as they weren't rude or disrespectful with me, and were infact...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was a loyal customer who was insulted by the young man working there. The vacuum I bought there 6 years ago konked out, apparently like many of this model (so they no longer sell it). I was offered a good deal on a new miele. After a long wait for the word on potential repair costs, I was told it wasn't worth fixing, at over 200 bucks. Upon returning to pick it up, I expressed my disappointment and asked about the promised good deal. This time it was 150 off another brand of upright. What I asked what other options I had, this unprofessional young man told me I could go to Walmart. That's all I needed to hear, especially since I was hoping to get a miele canister. Nope, not after that interaction. I was furious. I told the guy I didn't like his attitude toward me and took my broken vacuum, my future business and all of my past good will right out the door. He told me to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery nice shop, parking in the back, with an incredibly helpful owner!! I have had stick, cordless, bag-less vacuums for years. I was SO close to purchasing a very expensive Dyson from Costco because I didn't really know any better (the marketing is so good!). But I hesitated because I always end up buying another stick vac eventually, they get so dirty and stop suctioning. So I stopped in here and learned more about vacuums! I'm a bagged vacuum convert thanks to their knowledge! I got a new SEBO vacuum at a great deal and I'm so thrilled with my purchase! These vacuums have TEN year warranties (they LAST, unlike the 4 different Sharks I bought over the past years lol!) when you buy it through this shop. With heavy shedding dogs, allergies, and mix of floors, the knowledge and upgrade I received here is invaluable. Thank you! Go visit them before you just buy the Dyson or Shark...
