Food, sirloin steak very tasty, cooked perfectly medium rare,, baked potato hot.. shrimp Alfredo tasty but barely warm.. would have given 4 stars .. But..Tried to make make a reservation online and restaurant declined, email reply said only reservations for 8 or more .. "Angelo Brothers Ristorante & Banquet Hall doesn't take reservations for parties smaller than 8. If you'd like to walk in, the restaurant doesn't expect a wait time at 7:30 PM for a group of 2." Our experience, walked in, hostess didn't acknowledge us until after she cashed out someone, got a pizza and took payment from someone else telling `Their salad would be out shortly' .. then after their salad came out, she finaly addressed us.. telling us it would be 15-25 minute wait. Okay, we had seen the sign out front advertising for help, so knew there would likely be some wait. My husband asked if we could be seated and she agreed and took us to a table toward the back of the restaurant where we observed a very large birthday gathering, and a waitress who was very attentative to them, hustling to bring out salads and appetizers, then their dinners. In the meantime, a nice young man brought us some water. After 30 minutes, I went up to the hostess and she said that the waitress,( not Jennifer, )knew we were there and would get to us (she never came by or acknowledged us) Almost 15 minutes later, the waitress who had been working the large party, came over to check on us and asked if we were being helped or waiting for something.. when she, Jennifer, learned nobody was helping us, she got us menu's, fresh ice water, took my dietary concerns to the chef and made good recommendations. Within 5 minutes we had our salads and warm bread, almost an hour after arriving, as we were finishing our salads she brought out our dinners,, checking on us during our meal a couple of times. When we were done, she told us that the manager told her to give us free desert for our wait, canoli.. Lights were dim, music was appropriate volume and enjoyable. In a couple of years, when more people are working in would be willing to try again hopefully same chef there FYI, there are more things on the menu than what you...
Read moreMy husband and I went on Valentines day. We sat down bc a waitress seated us hostess was nowhere to be found. The waitress made it clear we would have a different person waitin on us. She was great she saw that we were waitin n was never greeted by our waitress to be so took our drink n food order n passed it along. We met our waitress as she brought food to us she never asked if our food was good. I had asked for steak sauce she brought me an empty bottle. (I managed to have only half my steak with sauce) She apoligized n said she will treat for dessert. Next she followed up with a whole tray of a dessert tray that enticed even my husband to choose one. She came back once before she the order in n asked us if we wanted it to go. We waited over 20mins. No Bill No dessert. I went up to desk and a lady in very casual clothes came back with our dessert n bill. I didnt look at bill until she came back with it with my card already ran. This time I look so I could leave tip. I saw that things were stressed and very busy. My husband just feels bad when we see a business that seems strained we believe that the server was doing her best but her eye to attention n detail was poor. So I wished to give a fair tip even though our dinner service had been poor. Free dessert to help support saying Im sorry let me make it up to you was a good way to have finished our evening. But turns out the bill came back with both desserts makin our bill about $10 higher. Our waitress came back saw me with bill and then offered either to rerun the ticket or another free dessert. My husband n I had no need for the dessert we did receive we got it bc we had believed this was to make up for our long wait time. We was seated at 7pm and we left at 8:50pm. So I chose please rerun it. She brings me the ticket with the sale voided n our new bill. Once im home I noticed we never got refunded. So now Im going to have to try and find time to call during their hrs of operation to see if this can be fixed. This was our first expierence and our last. This needs a manager and more help. A better deliverance and help to make customer service an improvement. There should be less stress on their servers....
Read moreAngelo's used to have the absolute BEST pizza around (well...Amantea's was just as good and possibly better but they closed a while back) - authentic Italian thinner crust with the tastiest sauce - it used to be loaded with cheese and toppings if you orderd the Supreme or Deluxe, etc. Been going there for decades and always consistent...things changed DRASTICALLY OVERNIGHT when the owner died a couple years ago and the family took over. The pizza is like cardboard now - almost non-existent sauce, barely-there cheese and scant toppings...super DRY...just unrecognizable from its past glory. We went back SEVERAL TIMES being in denial thinking this was just a bad, "off" night but the same kept happening over and over again even after telling the waitress(es) how bad it was the last few times IN DETAIL (slashing ingredients in half, etc.) and to relay this to the cooks so they'd get it right this time. NO SUCH LUCK it's like they doubled down in retaliation sending a resounding message and kept serving the pizza in the same low quality style - if they had to increase prices....DO IT but keep the quality the same. Instead they raised prices and also grossly skimped on ingredients. This place is a faint fraction of what it used to be since the owner died and I'm shocked anyone even wastes their time going back. You'd think the family would be glad that they were on the receiving end of a WELL-ESTABLISHED business that took decades to retain long-term patrons and to keep the formula the same but they instantly put a hatchet to the menu and grossly reduced the quality. It's a heartbreaker but this isn't the first time we've seen, "Family", take over a long standing and successful restaurant when the original owners died only to get greedy and expect instant profits which took years and patience with the previous owners to attain and destroy the business in...
