First of all, this place is quaint and charming, despite its size. You walk in and feel like you've walked into a little cafe in a small town where locals gather to sip coffee and have lively conversations over breakfast or lunch. Joining the wait list before arrival is convenient. When we were in on Feb. 4, we were seated five minutes after arrival. The hostess was friendly and we were looking forward to a fabulous family breakfast. From that point forward, everything was in slow motion, from ordering to the delivery of our food, and waiting for the bill.
My husband and I shared biscuits and gravy, and I wouldn't order it again. It was ok, but the biscuit had been buttered and grilled, so it wasn't soft like it should be, and it was off putting. The gravy was decent after a hefty dash of salt and pepper. The fruit bowl was good, with the exception of the pineapple, which was cut WAY too close to the core and couldn't be eaten. My daughter liked the tater tot casserole at first, but it quickly lost its appeal because it's very heavy.
The biggest disappointment was the Twilight French Toast. We've ordered this in the past. It used to be a wedge slice from a French toast casserole. It was delicious when prepared that way, with the sauce seeping into the crevices and making the already moist dish a little more moist. Now they bake it into a loaf and slice it.There were 6 slices on the plate swimming in sauce, but the bread was so dense that the sauce could not penetrate it, and the end result was not tasty. I'm not sure if the bread was stale, or just not good, but the entire dish, which is quite expensive by the way, was a huge disappointment.
We told the waitress, and she said they changed it a while back because when they'd reheat it, it wouldn't reheat evenly and sometimes the inside was still cool. (I'd prefer that, thank you.) She asked if we'd like it remade. We had already been there an inordinate amount of time and had somewhere to be and told her we couldn't wait. She told us she could take it off the bill, and we said that would be great because it wasn't good and this was my daughter's breakfast, and is also her lunch for work that day because it took so long she doesn't have time to stop at home before work. The waitress didn't take it off the bill, presumably because my daughter had to take it for lunch, and said nothing to us. Don't tell someone you're going to take something off the bill and not do it. My daughter couldn't even bring herself to eat it at lunch so most of it was thrown away.
During all of this, none of the dirty dishes were removed from the table. There was no apology for the lackluster food. We had to wait a long time to order and for the food to come to the table and for the bill to be brought out. If I didn't know better, I'd think this was a new place, learning the ropes. We will not be back to this location, but I hope that your experience is much better...

Went on the recommendation of a co-worker, and couldn't have had a worse experience. It took 10 minutes to receive 2 cups of water and a coffee. Waitress disappeared for another 10 minutes after my daughter asked for "a minute" to decide.
Once our order was finally taken, I didn't see a refill on coffee until our waitress, almost 30 min's later, said our order was "being made, and it'll be 5 minutes" all while seeing orders brought out to people that arrived well after us, and even then she sent a manager over to refill me.
At 1:00pm Sunday, we were told 5 more minutes. My daughter was hungry, while I mostly wasn't, so I put it on her to decide to leave and go elsewhere, or stay. She said give it until 1:15 and we'd go elsewhere. 5 minutes turned into 15, and we decided to leave. There are many other diners that are much faster in the area.
As we were leaving, I stopped to pay for my coffee. The hostess basically ignored me, and we stood there for about 3 minutes while she wrapped up a conversation with a guest. In that time I finally saw our waitress come with our food, but by that time I was over it, and so was my daughter.
I was told the food would be free at that point, but it didn't matter to myself or my daughter. We were both just frustrated at the lack of service. I have never walked out of a restaurant before like that, and I'll admit I felt bad, but don't treat people like they don't matter...because that's what you did to me and my daughter.
EDIT: The wait time was how long to be seated. I'm OK with waiting for a table, but my total visit was 1:25 minutes, and seating took 20 minutes. Draw your own...
Read moreThe service here is personable and friendly. I was greeted upon arrival and the wait staff was attentive during my seating and ordering. It was a social event.
I was impressed by their have unique vegetarian options that are delicious and filling. Good portions. When I first arrived I got my menu and I was a little taken aback by what I was reading – it all seemed so delicious. I settled on a great looking cheeseburger. As I was ordering the waiter asked me, ‘You know it’s vegan, right?’
I said, ‘No. I didn’t. What does that mean?’ It was my first time experiencing any vegan menu items. He began to tell me all about the meal and I was grateful and entertained. I finally said, ‘Oh, that’s great! Bring it on.’ I like new things. Out came my cheeseburger after a short wait along with some kale fries (outrageously yummy!). Along with a cup of coffee this was just a wonderful meal. I know he told me it was vegan. It said it was vegan in the menu but I have to say it tasted like one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had in my life!
I like the environment too. The venue is brightly light and the design is art itself. Brightly lit and gently but thoroughly colored (if you like aqua – dive right in!) it is a pleasant place to be let alone have a tasty meal. I found it a little pricey for regular visits, but I have not gone through their entire menu by a long shot.
This place is a great treat for anyone. I highly recommend for the reason that the general seating allows for personal and business conversations. The counter seating is interesting...
