Giving 3 stars instead of 1 because I really do appreciate the vegan soft serve options and how many there are, BUT they are not very cautious when dealing with it. My FIRST ever visit here was a nightmare. I haven't consumed ANY dairy in 2 years, making my body react as if I were allergic to it if I were to accidentally ingest it, like I did my first visit here. Upon walking up, I read on their main sign 24 vegan soft serve flavors (or something along those lines) so I was really excited to see which 24 flavors were available. I wasn't greeted by the employee, she just had the window open and was looking at us, waiting. So I said hi, then asked her WHICH flavors could be made vegan. I was told they ALL could be. I ordered the cake batter and the cheesecake mixed, and specified both vegan. Even as they handed out my order, she called it vegan. Later that night I was woken up with the WORST stomach pains, and I got very, very sick. I had no idea what could've caused this, until I went back here for my second visit and tried ordering the (what I was told was vegan) cake batter, only to find out that is the ONLY flavor they cannot make vegan. I was shocked. I told the employee last time I was there they told me it was vegan and she kind of just brushed it off and said "well maybe they used a vegan cake batter that time, but right now it's not vegan"... I remembered I took a picture of my ice cream that night so I went back to check the date and sure as heck it was the night I was really sick. I should've asked for the owner right then and there to discuss this serious matter, but I was so upset I just wanted to get my stuff and go. I later posted a little warning on my Instagram story to all my vegan followers who may go here, and tagged the location. Dairy Dan's did respond to me apologizing, and I know there's only so much you can do- but I feel like it wasn't very sincere. This could've sent me to the ER, it's not something that should be taken lightly and the owner said they agreed and would let the employees know about this issue. Fast forward to a few days later and a vegan friend of mine went for ice cream and tells me the cake batter is still not marked "not vegan" or taken off the list that implies it can be made vegan, so she asked about it and they told her there's a sign up INSIDE the building for the employees so they know, but why wouldn't you advertise this to your customers as well? This happened to me at my FIRST visit, and I get that mistakes happen, but to prevent this from happening again, dont you think you should take all precautions possible? What happens when one of the employees forgets to check that sign saying its not vegan, or maybe they're too busy to check it? You're risking another customers health. It should be known and very apparent which options can be made dairy free so this doesn't fall back on your business and employees. I will continue to come here because as I said I do appreciate the options, and I understand mistakes happen. I will just be VERY cautious and make 100% sure every time that I'm getting dairy free products, and I hope you all do to. The cake batter CAN NOT BE MADE VEGAN. Fyi to save someone the troubles I...
Read moreFirstly, I LOVE how many dairy options they have. That being said, the vegan ice cream is terrible. I'm assuming because making a tall flurry of vegan ice cream is expensive, but the product was also like $10 and just not it. Loves the fruit and the topping, but the ice cream that it was interlaced in tasted like an overly sweet coconut sorbet-- I have no idea what it actually was. Just very sorbet, and I had my mouth ready for ice cream. It reminded me of the ice cream that odd burger has and theirs is oat based and also just not it... Wouldn't order again, but like I said, I love that they have options. Doordashed last night as my boyfriend was craving ice cream and I'm glad they were open. Vegan shakes are listed throughout, but you can't actually even select a vegan shake in the doordash app even though it indicates "Vegan option." That was also off-putting because it's what a really wanted. More than anything, the 3 stars are for service. Not worth...
