What I love the most about Eva's besides the level of nostalgia that hits me everytime I walk through the door is the balance between breakfast and lunch. Most places, one of these choices is the better option. Here, both are equally amazing. Check 'em out. Sometimes the waitstaff get pretty busy, but be patient with them; you won't find a genuinely kinder waitstaff. You can ask your food be plated in a to-go container to save time if you wish. Food pictured: Turkey and dressing with cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, carrots, and peach cobbler. And fried chicken with macaroni and cheese, brown gravy over mashed potatoes, and chocolate whipped cream pie. And rolls. 9/1/24 Update If the main lady isn't there, just don't go. She was sick today and I arrived at 10:24, it took the person at the register five minutes to ring up the order for the person in front of me. So while they're taking their time I make an effort to ask a waitress if they're gonna start throwing away breakfast, because that's why I'm here. I was told "no, we don't do that." Well I wait about a half an hour and're told they're out of biscuits. So it took them approximately fifty one minutes to make a country ham omelette and strawberry waffle. I was gonna get my money back for everything only for my food to be magically suddenly ready. My favorite waitress lied to me! To be frank, this is unacceptable treatment of someone who frequented their establishment weekly for months. After being an advocate for y'all for so long, I'm shockingly...
Read moreFirst timer for this local spot. Was under the impression they had something special going because they are always pretty busy, but it appears as though that's probably due to the lack of other options in town, again. Stood inside front door and it took 4 minutes before one of the three waitresses that looked at me told me to sit anywhere I wanted. Sat down and then waited 8 minutes before a waitress came over to ask what I wanted to drink. 4 minutes later I had my orange juice and a menu and plenty of time to decide what I wanted for breakfest, took another 7 minutes for my waitress to come back for my order. Something may have been going horribly wrong in the kitchen, my 2 eggs, corned beef hash, hash browns and toast took 13 minutes to get to me and it didn't even compare to the same plate I make at home. Probably no time or patience for a 2nd visit for me. They seem to have a daily gathering of old timer locals from what I hear so I'm sure they will be...
Read moreI recently took my mother and son to this restaurant for breakfast, and it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. We arrived, sat down, and waited far too long just to place our order. After finally ordering, we continued to wait…and wait…for 40 minutes with no sign of our food.
What made it worse was watching another table that arrived 10 minutes after us—clearly familiar with someone in the kitchen—get served ahead of us. The preferential treatment and lack of respect for other customers was blatant and completely unprofessional. Frustrated and hungry, we decided to get up and leave.
Adding to the unpleasant atmosphere, the place was decorated for Halloween with imagery that seemed more suited for a haunted house than a family restaurant. Witches and other eerie symbols were everywhere, creating an uncomfortable environment for families with children. If you’re looking for good service and a family-friendly atmosphere, do yourself a favor and...
