I don’t usually eat this kind of pastry, but I just wanted to give it a try. I had a bánh pía and it was alright, not good or bad. It’s priced at $6.50 for one which feels expensive for what it is, but I wouldn’t know because I’ve never bought one prior to this one.
But my main issue is with the customer service. The worker was so rude and impatient. As I’ve said, I don’t usually eat this kind of pastry so I was trying to take my time deciding what to get and I was also on FaceTime with my girlfriend so we were talking and deciding together. The worker then proceeded to pull out his phone and start mocking me. I think he was also filming me too because where I went, he would follow. It was very weird.

The bánh pía itself is flaky with a soft center and has great flavor! If you can’t make it in, they said they ship across the country. They offer a wide variety of Vietnamese baked goods including bánh tiêu, bánh bông lan trứng muối and bánh phục linh. Also tried the fresh nước mía (sugarcane juice); it was so refreshing and had perfect amount of kumquat. I come here, however, solely for the pate chaud. At $1.50 each, this place has the best tasting and best priced pate so currently. The crust is big and flaky, filled with a generous pork filling inside. The flavor is on point and you cannot eat just one.
