L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Westminster

Stopped at this Land L on the way home from the beach. We were starving. We placed our order and tried to change it about 2 minutes later. The chef was a jerk and said it was too late even though it was obvious nothing was cooking yet. What was even worse, though, was the food. I ordered the fried shrimp and fish seafood plate with a side of beef. The shrimp was fair, the fish was soggy and tasteless, the beef was so salty (and I love salt) that it was inedible. The macaroni salad tasted off like it had gone bad. Didn't eat it. The tartar sauce for the fish is nasty. My d-i-l had the garlic shrimp and the short ribs. The garlic shrimp was okay, but they only gave 4 mall pieces of shrimp and 2 short ribs for $18.00. The short ribs were tough, dry and waaaay too salty. My son had the chicken katsu which tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. His barbecue chicken was okay. It was a little dry, but okay. We also got 4 spam musubis which were okay. We paid $75.00 (no drinks) for 3 mostly inedible dinners. Beyond disappointed, particularly because the L and L in Irvine has always been good. Eat here at...

Ok so I really hate to give anything but 5 stars for L&L BBQs especially since every restaurant I've been to has been super fantastic and never had any issues... Until I went to this one :( I was greeted with a super nice employee and was very helpful but after that everything went downhill! I went to use the restroom while we waited for food, and I could not BELIEVE the mess and the smell, oh god the smell was just unbelievable! I tried to forget that experience after my food came out, but when I asked for teriyaki sauce she pointed to some bottles that were labeled Teryaki but all it was was what seemed like water with soy sauce or something... When I asked the employee again if I could get some of the more thicker stuff they have in back (I always ask for it at the LB location) and she said no, all we have are the ones on the tray! Which sucked because the chicken was super dry and both me and my gf threw em away after only eating less than half of the bowls! Super bummed about the whole experience, I doubt I'll return to...

This L&L location is a ripoff one. Do not go here. A Half & Half plate is $18.75 so $3 more compared to other locations in the area. They also charge $1 if you order Short Rib. Also charge $0.50 for switching steam veggies. Other locations none of these extra charge.

When I brought up to employees, they said nothing they can do or answer. All decided by management or owner. So really, this franchise owner just want to rip customer off. L&L is not supposed to be this ridiculously expensive.

At least, the employee is very helpful and attentive to my complaint. I revised it to 5 star of service. Cashier man called the manager to help me with the full refund. I couldn't even finish their bad-quality food plus tolerating the ripoff. Kudos to employee team, and sorry for being a pain to make a point to the greedy managements. I will take next step to report to the actual L&L corporation
