So long LaMar's. It was actually good while it lasted, but never again. I'm not sure where the greed came from and I'm not sure how it will ever return to normal pricing. You'd expect to pay just a little more for a Lamar's donut. Sure. I always did, and I would bring them by the dozen to my workplace. But somehow prices have nearly tripled in the past few years, and I can't support BS like that. After being greeted by a very kind and professional young man I just wanted to get some donuts for my kids. 6 to go and 1 for the road. NORMAL donuts. $25 for 7 rings of dough. And getting 6 was my mistake because after 1 mediocre tasting donut there wasn't an appetite for more. While many of us have had our careers chopped and our earnings cut in half, places like this think they can triple their prices charge $3 for one single donut. Personally, I'd rather see it shut down permanently because of it. No wonder there was a guy flipping a sign on the street, and one customer inside, at 9:30 on a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't know that Ill go back to Lamar's, first I get that they are a made fresh daily donut shop and I think that is WONDERFUL, but their hours on there doors say on Sunday they are open till 4pm, but they run out of donuts super early and no more will be made is what I was told. Then they need to say that on their door somewhere. Second Maria was the person who served me and she was so rude, I asked a question and she treated me as if I was 4, she was annoyed that I asked her to fill some long johns with bavarian cream and chocolate fluff only to find out when I got home that she got the chocolate fluff one wrong even after asking her 3 times for chocolate fluff not white fluff, and then when I went to pay again just a rude attitude, at no time was I rude or disrespectful to her in any way. This isn't the first time I have had rude service at Lamars but this is the first time I have left a review for them. I think Ill stick with other donut shops from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never wanted to write a review because I kept thinking maybe it was just that one occasion, but now I've come here at least five times and left disappointed each time. I'll start with the only thing I like about this Lamar's, which is that they're never sold out by noon.
So I recently picked up a box of assorted donuts and all of them were thin/small, overcooked and underfilled. They were so dry they were wrinkled and chewy, and I wondered if they were yesterday's donuts. Plus, long johns are supposed to take up the length of the box, not the width. Even a bag of two donuts is supposed to feel heavy.
Chipotle, which originated in Colorado, is consistent no matter which state you have it in. So why can't Lamar's do the same? I'm embarrassed that people in CO eat these donuts, thinking it's actual Lamar's. The whole staff needs to take a trip to Kansas City and see why the OG shops have lines out the door, even...
