Terrible experience dealing with Amish Furniture Gallery.
I worked with a lady sales person named Danny. I placed a 2 part order: The first part consisted of a sofa and two chairs which were from the same manufacturer with a max 2 month lead time. The 2nd part of the order consisted of approximately 8 pieces of "occasional furniture," all wood and ordered in the same dark color, with an estimated 3-4 month lead time.
The problems soon began: about 6 weeks after placing the order, Danny called to inform me that the sofa I ordered was discontinued and no longer available. At that time, I was basically forced to order another sofa that I would have never originally chosen (but am now stuck with). At that time I explained that 1.5 months had already elapsed since the original order and asked if this was going to "reset" the lead time. Danny casually stated, "yes, you'll have to wait another 2 months before the new order arrives, which is no big deal, because the wood order isn't scheduled to arrive for another 3 months so we can deliver everything then." I was livid and reminded her that I expected the sofa and chairs to be delivered first, and that the 2nd part of the order would come later. I ended up having to get her manager and the manufacturer involved in order to get an expedited order of the new sofa. Complete waste of time that should have never happened, had Danny handled the issue better.
Fast forward 2 months: 3 days ago I rec'd a call from the store informing me that the 2nd part of the order had arrived and that it would be delivered today. Of course, when it arrived 3 of the main pieces were the WRONG COLOR. A light wood stain, rather than the dark stain that I had ordered, and that all of the rest of the pieces are. When I called the store manager, he informed me that I'll have to wait another 3-4 months to get these pieces replaced. No offer to expedite the process, reduce the cost, or anything else. I'M JUST STUCK HAVING TO WAIT.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AMISH FURNITURE GALLERY TO ANYONE BASED UPON THE WAY MY SIMPLE ORDER WAS SO BADLY MANAGED AND SCREWED...
Read moreTerrible customer service and once delivered, my bed was built and made backwards!!! And to top it off the salesperson said that this mistake was my fault! When you buy over $5,000 of furniture you expect it to be in pristine condition and the costumer service to be polite!
First of all I was promised my furniture no more than 12 weeks later, which would have been by Thanksgiving. My furniture just arrived this week-a week before Christmas! When I would call to check on the status of my furniture they acted as if I was putting them out by calling! Second, I had put aside my morning for the delivery, and when the truck came it didn't have the proper registration tags on it so they were not allowed access onto base (we are a military family and live on a military base). They delivery guys were super nice!!! They had great attitudes and were very apologetic. They were able to go get the new tags and come back. However this took about 3 more hours. Once I finally received my furniture and it was set up, I noticed that the "pretty beveled" side of the headboard was facing the wall. And as you lay in the bed the pretty part was facing me on the footboard. So basically the headboard and footboard are backwards! The delivery men completely saw this as well and said it would get taken care of. I finally received a call today, 6 days later, from our salesperson, Willy Weitzel, who claimed that I ordered it like that!!!!! I was polite but upset. Said I was upset. And the worst part is that he became rude to me, insisting that I wanted it ordered as a flat panel! I tried explaining how and why would someone ever order like that?! My salesman said they would have to order me a new bed which would take another 12 weeks (as expected) however his attitude was very rude and he never admitted to the mistake. I feel like they should be doing something extra for us, as most companies would, for the delays and mistakes. I give this furniture a 5, it's beautiful, however the costumer service...that's a whole...
Read moreMarilyn, Morgan, and the staff at Amish Furniture Gallery know how to treat the customer. They’re helpful and professional. My wife and I first noticed the store because of the high-quality workmanship and design of the furniture. It really is a step above. We’ve since made four purchases: a bedroom set, two living room chairs, two table lamps, and a large wooden king bed frame. In the process, we learned just how customer-friendly this store can be.
After taking home the two lamps, we found that they didn’t match our tables the way we’d hoped. We returned them, without a problem, and Marilyn gave us a full refund. Next, we special ordered a large custom king bed frame, an item that took 3 1/2 months to make at the Amish factory. After the bed arrived and I took delivery and saw it in my bedroom, I wasn’t happy with the color. It didn’t seem to match the sample I had picked. I mentioned this to Marilyn, and she immediately and helpfully took the issue to the owner and suggested we order a replacement bed in a darker color. I liked that idea and kept the original bed while the new one was being made. The replacement bed arrived 2 1/2 months later and is a beautiful charcoal/dark brown. The workmanship is unbelievable. Very nice.
I’m happy with the bed and even happier with the customer service. Marilyn and the staff really went above and beyond to satisfy me. She told me that, for the owner, the customer always comes first, and now I know what she means. Needless to say, I look forward to buying more high-quality pieces from the Amish Furniture Gallery, confident that the store will do what it takes to...
