Prior to my arrival in Maryland, my Bestfriend stumbled upon this restaurant via social media and we agreed to go together on my next trip. Being our usual self, we were excited to try out a new restaurant together and experience Indian Cuisine.
Upon walking in, the floor plan isn’t the traditional Buffet Style setup. The tables are in the front and the Buffet selection is towards the back BEHIND the counter. Though it is All You Can eat, they serve the food to you via a cafeteria style setup.
As this was the first time, the young lady who assisted us proposed that she put a sample of everything on my plate so I can see what I liked, then in the next go round, focus on the items I decided upon. This was a perfect idea as it allowed me to get a feel for everything and be able to make an informed decision for round 2. Along with this, you must request the NAAN bread at the counter and it gets brought to your table.
After going down the line, I got a sample of everything except the goat. Overall, the food was good.
The Chicken Kabob was super moist and meaty. It had a true authentic seasoning blend which was mild, yet flavorful.
The Butter Chicken was good. The flavors weren’t as robust as I imagined, however, it was good overall and was brought to life when paired with the NAAN bread.
The Kidney Beans and Chick Peas (Green Bean) sides were both amazing. I really enjoyed the flavor profiles of each dish as well as the spice level. Both of these side selections present as the highlight of the plate. So much so, I would go back for an order of each of these alone.
The NAAN bread was truly the hidden gem of the experience. I have never had FRESH NAAN bread and the fact that this was homemade and fresh was beyond mouth watering. The naan was crispy on the outside but still had the soft center which allowed for the chew to be even more pleasing than what the mind could have imagined. Furthermore, there is a perfect amount of oil and garlic that provides this added addition to the flavor profile. Oh my! For the record, if I lived in the area, the NAAN bread would be a weekly indulgence of mine.
Overall, I enjoyed the experience and if in the area again with a taste for Indian Cuisine, I wouldn’t hesitate to stop in for a to-go order.

Read moreI'm reviewing this establishment with a heavy heart and mixed feelings. Patiala Curry Culture is good for Westminster. It is a nice change of pace with flavors that Westminster is not too exposed to. That is what is keeping this from a 1 ⭐ review. The problems that Patiala's are facing mainly stem from what seems like rushed establishment.
For one, they do not have enough staffing. From what I had seen, and from what several other people have expressed me, is that on many occasions there is only one person acting as the hostess, clerk, and server. This leads to less than ideal service, and less than pleasant interactions with the person wearing three hats.
The next issue that I saw, also stemming from what seemed like rushed establishment, is their website. Their website still has many stock photos, not even relating to the restaurant, and menu options/tabs that are out of place. The current website also borderlines false advertising, boasting of cheap / low price dining, while most meal items cost upwards of $20. I have no issue with their meal prices, as I'm willing to pay top dollar for a good bowl of tikka masala / vindaloo, but let's not call it cheap / low price dining. On top of that, I felt that the flavors were subpar / muted. I like my tikka masala with a kick, but I was not asked for any sort of spice level while ordering, and the food came out tasting very bland with no heat. Worse yet, when viewing their website, I was redirected to spam / scam sites multiple times.
Patiala's definitely has potential, and I would like to see them thrive, but in its current state, I was extremely underwhelmed with the service, quality of food, marketing, and pricing. I definitely feel like this establishment would have done better and left a better impression, if there were more planning, development, and staffing from...
Read moreThe food was actually great the first time I visited, so I ordered the same appetizer again this time & paid up front.., but it took 55 minutes to get my food (one small appetizer & one order of naan) even though I was the only customer in the restaurant when ordering. Had they informed me of a wait, I wouldn’t have ordered. Only after the next few people came in did they begin quoting a 30-minute wait time. I only received my appetizer after another table ordered the same thing (ordering 20 minutes or so after I did, and roughly 50 minutes after ordering). Then, the dish was made differently than the previous time with only one samosa instead of several, and the samosa itself was cold (served warm previously). And then, I still had to wait another 10 minutes or so for my naan, which they only started making after the fourth time I asked for it. Also, when I asked for my whole order (which I shouldn’t have had to do), the woman tried to tell me I wasn’t getting my naan because I didn’t order an entree….yet, I paid for it? Only after firmly insisting that I wanted what I paid for or a refund did I get my naan, yet the same rude woman had the audacity to accuse me of not paying when I was FINALLY able to get up and leave. If I could take back the tip I pre-aid, I would. Hopefully, she is the owner because if not, the owner should know she just lost them new business. My friends & I were excited about this place, but we won’t be back. What an absolutely...
