Horrible attitude and customer service. When my husband asked if their gluten free pizza was celiac friendly for a child with celiac, two employees were rude and extremely ignorant stating "It's gluten free, man. How do I know?". Anyone who has or has family members with celiac knows how serious the difference is. One employee even rolled his eyes and scoffed at our child as if they, as paying customers, were inconveniencing him. They walked out, my husband expressed his disappointment in their poor attitude and the employees made a joke about it. If this is acceptable by management, I'm sorry to say we will never be back and as you know, word gets around in a small town.
In response to said owner. May I recommend another way of responding to negative feedback, that is bound to happen in business?
"Ms. Jones, I'm sorry to hear that your family felt they had a negative experience at "our restaurant". Here at "our restaurant" we strive to provide the best customer service possible as it is just as important as the food we serve. I would like to extend my apologizes and please invite your family back to give us another try. We understand that food allergies are very serious and if we were perceived to be insensitive, I apologize. On another note, I'm happy (sorry) to say that our gluten free pizza is (is not) celiac friendly!(.) Regardless, we truly hope your family chooses to come back and give us another try!"
Here, no blame was placed on either yourself, employees, or the customer for what could have been an all around bad day for everyone. However, your the business owner, always extend apologies rather than blame.
A plug for your gluten free pizza, whether it be diet fad friendly, or celiac friendly!
Double plug if it is celiac friendly!
Ask the patron to come back rather than blessing us. That's passive aggressive.

Read moreBest Italian food in all of Westminster, possibly all of Carroll county. I have eaten at this tiny little restaurant multiple times now, and each time my date and I have been absolutely blown away by how good the food is here. It's the rare case where things listed on the specials menu are actually special and hand crafted by a master chef. The attention to detail and the perfection with which they prepare every part of your plate is dizzying.
The food is incongruous with the outward appearance of this strip mall restaurant. It looks like a rowdy sports bard with a small dining section. A Maryland lottery kiosk tucked along one wall. Sports games on many mounted TVs. The first sign that something interesting is going on here is how almost all the tables seem full at dinner time on a week night and luckily I've never had to wait for a seat there, although last night it looks like we got the only open table.
I am lucky enough to live a few minutes away but this place is worth driving to if you aren't from this area. I don't know who they have hidden back there in the kitchen, maybe its Sergio himself, whoever it is they are amazing. Ironically we have never ordered pizza, although I hear good things. its so hard to pass up the amazing specials menu.

Read moreWe heard about Sergio's through a friend. I had a local pizza place image in my mind. Sergio's is much more than the average pizza shop. A very friendly hostess took us to our table immediately. We ordered a couple of alcohol beverages. Then we ordered the Bruschetta and sausage with meatballs. Both amazing. The bruscetta toast was crispy with the perfect amoiof balsamic vinegar. Loaded with tomatoes, diced red onion and basil. The sausage was sweet, meatballs were tender. Very good seasoning in sautéed peppers and marinara sauce. We were blown away by how big our entree portions were. My girlfriend had the chicken cheese steak with French fries. Which she raved about. I had seafood marinara over pasta. Mussels, class, huge shrimp, chunks of crab meat and scallops. Sweet and zesty marinara over perfectly cooked pasta. Warm bread and butter served as well. I was in such a hurry to eat my seafood marinara that I forgot to take a picture of our entrees. We were stuffed and had leftovers to take home, but we had to get a slice of chocolate peanut butter cake. We ate so much I'll be doing extra time in the gym this week, but it was...
