I had the worse experience here. We were on vacation and I came in for the first time to get some banh boa for breakfast the next day. Grew up in Southern California and haven’t been to Anaheim for years. I wanted to reminisce my child hood when my mom use to take me to Westminster every weekend. My husband is mix and he totally doesn’t look Vietnamese but I’m totally 100% Vietnamese. There was a girl on the register an older lady and another customer. The girl on the register was talking in Vietnamese out loud to whoever was acknowledging her that I was going to take 30mins to know what I want. I guess she had no idea I understood her. I didn’t let it bother me because my mission was to have these buns for breakfast. I ordered one box of bbq pork $13 and a bag of peanuts($2). My husband then intend to pay with a debit card and the girl asked if we have cash or we would have to spend $25 worth of food. So I end up having to get another box of buns. Total to $28. After leaving I felt like I was forced to buy way too much food and was ripped off and terribly criticize by my own people. I would never return to this establishment and will tell everyone I know of what I...
Read moreI’ve visited a few times and always ordered the Bánh Bò Nước Cốt Dừa (Rice Cake with Coconut Milk), Bánh Da Lợn, Tàu Hũ (Tofu Pudding), Bánh Khoai Mì Nướng (Baked Cassava Cake), and Flan. I’ve loved every food I’ve tried, though the Flan was my least favorite. Their cakes aren’t too sweet but are wonderfully soft and moist. The Bánh Da Lợn even has a hint of durian (I think). The Rice Cake with Coconut Milk is a must-try—it's the best I’ve ever had! The store is small but clean and well-organized. The service is quick and friendly. Parking in the front is limited, but there’s additional parking behind the mall, just a short walk away. It’s...
Read moreBanh bao is banh bao. Unless it's really bad.i bought a box of theirs, and I also bought a box of my usual place over by Euclid and Garden Grove Blvd. Let's say if you prefer more dough and less meat then Yummy Banh Bao is for you. But if you prefer more meat and less of the carbohydrates, those white stuff then you need to head out to my favorite place. The taste for both place is the same. Yummy banh bao is like those dim sum buns at the Chinese restaurant.. Freshly steamed, lots of dough, and little meat inside. One time is more than enough. I'm heading back to my...
