Today the first such ever thing happened to me in US. The bartender refused to serve me cuz I have international passport. She said, if I don't have US id, I must go. Rly, why is that? Looking for answer from management or owner, cuz I was several time before and there was no issues with my ID. 11pm. 07.14.
I can't reply you, so I will write here. This is what Illinois state law says which is above any village law. What forms of identification are acceptable for purchasing or consuming alcoholic beverages or tobacco products?
A: Acceptable ID’s include the following: A valid current driver’s license or photo ID card issued by the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office or any other State; a valid Armed Forces ID; and a valid U.S. passport or foreign passport (with U.S. travel visa) containing the holder’s photograph. Please note: If a license holder chooses to request identification, then they have the authority to refuse service if the written evidence of identification is not a U.S.-affiliated ID. Nevertheless, it is ultimately the license holder's choice on what they will accept. Of course, if they accept an ID that is not U.S.-affiliated, then they have no defense if the person turns out to be under 21. Anyway I was at your place about 7 times and you always served me. So I can't believe at...
Read moreOne of my favorite local gems. Service is friendly and helpful! I always see customers in but never overly packed. Food is so delicious, especially the burgers and fries (try the Cajun seasoning on the fries). Great drink specials. Weekly events ranging from games on tv to bingo and trivia with some seasonal events sprinkled in. It's cozy and a little dark inside which i prefer but if you crave the sun they have an updated beer garden with a covering. They have casino machines, atm and touch tunes for customers. And the manager or owner can usually be found running food, cleaning tables, restocking or helping the bartenders which to me is a huge sign of a dedicated well run small bar. Idk if this is the spot for fancy martinis as i usually just get beer or liquor but the bartenders there are great and I'm sure they'd whip you up something tasty.
Check them out if you're looking for a good meal, first date spot, drinks with friends or if you just want a quick beer and a few minutes watching a game. Very charming spot for a cold brew...
Read moreMy sister and I came to Chicago with our boyfriend's for a pre birthday get away. After spending some time downtown we wanted to go to a bar close to our hotel, which was d's. I'm not sure what we did wrong since we were polite and sat in the same spot the rest of the night, not rowdy at all. The bartender was rude and seemed like she didn't want to serve us or for us to even be there. We tried making friendly conversation with her which didn't go anywhere. We got the "hold on a sec" finger multiple times including when asking where the bathroom was. The customers she did talk to at the end of the bar gave us dirty looks here and there as she was talking to them. She did last call at 1:20am and then as we were finishing our drinks had a guy awkwardly come stand next to us till we left as everyone else was still enjoying their night and finishing off their drinks. Including people still out on the patio. I would have to say this was the most unwelcome feeling I have ever had at a bar. Otherwise, drinks were good and it is a nice...
