Whiskey Hill Brewing Company / Production Facility & Private Event Space Only — Restaurant in Westmont

I had some free time while visiting in-laws and decided to explore some breweries. This was my favorite stop. The place is tiny and is little more than a garage in an industrial zone, but it was the most welcoming. A couple was left as I got my flight and the bartender struck up conversation like I'd been a regular. She asked where I'd been and gave me suggestions for other places to check out. Other brew hoppers showed up and they were welcomed into the fold. It was what going out for a drink should be. The milk stout was solid and the IPAs were good, though the rye porter was kind of a miss. The Bourbon barrel aged quad was fantastic. For kids or the DD they also make a killer root beer. Been wanting to try this for awhile and made it there this past Sunday afternoon. Staff seemed confused, high or just plain didn't give a..... There is a board at the front door listing specials (food and drink) that nobody could answer questions about. If there's only four things on special is it too much to ask that servers know about them? We were given a very dirty piece of paper with the beers on tap that differed from the ones written on a board by the bar that differed from ones flashed up on a screen along with various ads. There's no continuity at all and with said server it's like talking to the wall. We did order their calamari appetizer, which was good. Had one drink and left. Maybe on another night or time things flow better but no need for...

We checked this place out for the first time this weekend. Obviously the location is great being on the train line. We didn’t eat but enjoyed drinks.

Frank, the manager/owner (?), visited our table several times. He brought shots for us all while celebrating a birthday. The bartender also came over and let us sample a new cocktail he was working on (dreamsicle, so good). The crowd was mixed in age and high energy. Dining area and even the restrooms were really cute.
