I really used to love going to this place and had never had a bad experience until today. My husband and I had a great meal, that is until I went to pay. The cashier ran my debit card, the first time she told me the machine didn't read my card so she asked for it again. The second time, she said "actually, it has an authorization number but it won't let me print. I don't know why". She called another lady over who was exceptionally rude. She told the first lady, "there's not enough on the card for the tip". I knew I had over $3k in that particular account, but being they had already swiped my card twice, I started to get concerned regarding their incompetence. I checked my card, there was only one charge in the amount of $27 (which was the cost of the bill). She printed a receipt, I saw there was a line for me to write in the tip, the second lady kept saying, as the line continued to grow, I did not have enough money on my card to pay for the tip. I showed her my account, and said "why don't I just write in the tip?". She told me that if I did that then they would still have to put it in the computer, and if they didn't than "no one would get that money". So, essentially at this point it had already been 10 minutes of just trying to pay. I indicated she should put it in the computer but I should be able to write in the tip and leave, and said "oh jeeze." She said "you can oh jeeze all you want but this isn't my fault". Seeing as a computer issue, and incompetence has nothing to due with me I asked her "Umm, and this is my fault!?!". She said I needed to stay until they authorized it. Seriously, I have never been to an establishment who will not let you write in a tip for the server on a credit card receipt that clearly has a line for the tip. I will never return to this restaurant because of the way I was treated today. The lack of respect and customer service in this place, I am surprised they are even still open. The owners really need to look at their managers and reassess how their customers are treated. Don't go here unless you want to be treated like you don't have $32 in the bank to pay for your...
Read moreHarvest Pancake House is a GEM! Everything about our experience was exceptional. The setting is the quintessential Greek diner—now under new ownership, but still lovingly preserved in every detail.
When our waitress Judy came to take our order, I commented on how clean and well-kept the restaurant was. She smiled, looked over her glasses, and said, “And the kitchen is immaculate too.” I believed her! The cleanliness and care here truly deserve five stars on their own—everything sparkled, and it was clear this place is maintained with pride.
The food was excellent, arriving quickly and piping hot on classic white plates. Pancakes, bacon, fried eggs, Greek toast, omelets, and hash browns—everything looked and tasted exactly as you’d hope. Comfort food, done right.
Service was just as impressive. Judy was wonderful—warm, attentive, and hospitable. The bus staff kept water refilled and cleared plates promptly, adding to the seamless experience.
My friends and I had a terrific time here. We left full, happy, and already planning our return. Harvest Pancake House is the kind of diner you can’t help but fall...
Read moreSubstitutions don't make sense. I ordered the fruit bowl and the Down South. It comes with potatoes. I didn't want potatoes so asked what it could be substituted for...Fruit was the answer. Since I already ordered the more expensive fruit bowl...more fruit didn't make sense. Asked for raisin toast but that substitution isn't allowed. No way toast is more expensive than potatoes or fresh fruit.
Canceled my order to get just scrambled eggs and sausage. Cheaper and faster to get out of the restaurant.
When I travel, I try to support local businesses but this stuff is why travelers stick to chain restaurants.
Interesting that when I went to the front to pay, the cashier never asked if everything was OK...evidently had already gotten the message. Still tipped my normal 20% but if I were a local, this place...
