Read moreI know nothing is perfect, but for an undeserving eatery to garner such an inflated rating definitely causes one to lose faith in the ratings altogether.
Additionally, I also understand that many reviews (especially negative reviews) are to be taken with a grain of salt, and that experiences are both subjective and contextual relevant. Case in point: whereas one person may find spicy food to be positive, another may find it to completely the opposite. However, there are experiences that are likely to considered more objective in nature, such as the quality of service. Granted, individual attributes of overall service can be highly subjective, but the one of greatest attributes of service is quite objective: the accuracy of the order.
My family and I have dine her in the past, and our experiences were a net positive; however, things have apparently changed.
After going ~7 years since our last trip, we decided to stop and dine whilst we passed through Weston; oh what a mistake.
The service was incredibly slow, with us having to wait 15 mins. just to place our drink order; despite the wait, we chose not to leave.
My wife ordered the number 2 combo, which was vegetarian chalupa meal, after she was informed that she could not order the beef chimichanga because they fryer wasn’t working. I ordered the chipotle shrimp.
When the food arrived, my wife received an enchilada meal and I received a chicken meal with some sort of red sauce; we were told by the waitress that the kitchen prepared multiple shrimp meals and tables had simply been crossed. This very illogical (not to mention amateurish error if true) didn’t, in any way shape or form, explain my wife’s meal being completely different from what she ordered (no shrimp involved), and it certainly doesn’t explain how my shrimp meal was mixed up with a chicken meal.
Needless to say, we did not eat the incorrect meals, no remedy was offered except that the correct meals were likely just still back in the kitchen. The establishment offered nothing but excuses, continued to charge for my wife’s meal (though it was neither received nor eaten), and no one spoke with us about the incident outside of the server...
Read moreWe traveled to Clarksburg for business but stayed in Weston. This was nearly across the street from our hotel. The metal mariachi figurines outside are fantastic!! Upon entering I noticed how bright and clean the place looked. It looked brand new like the place recently opened...?? The chandeliers were amazing!! Very fitting for a Mexican restaurant. The booths were great. High backed with tufted fabric. Wought iron and leaded crystal aisle ends were unusual but very well done.
Our server was Francisco. He was kind and attentive but not overbearing. I ordered a mango margarita. It came in a fun glass and garnished with a strawberry and orange slice a real orchid flower. The margarita was really good. Chips and salsa were good. They brought out some other dipping sauce that we never could figure out what it was, but we didn't care much for it.
I got the camarones chimichanga meal without the cheese dip. I don't understand cheese dip. It's not an authentic Mexican item. Anyway, my plate came out and it had TWO chimichanga's. Two!! The plates are enormous, too. The were done very well. The shrimp inside were good sized and perfectly prepared. The sides were also very tasty.
My bf got the 3 campechano tacos rice and beans. The sauce on the side was very spicy but he loved it. Only issue was that the taco shells were falling apart. Perhaps if tge doubled up on the taco shells, it would help.
We were pleasantly surprised that West Virginia had Mexican food worthy of a southern California location. If we ever find ourselves back there, we'll...
