Read moreThis is the friendliest supermarket. Everyone is obsessed with making sure you want to shop here. It's a top place to work in Connecticut and if they are a great place to work, it makes sense they are also great with their customers. Most supermarkets have similar products but Big Y's product selection and quality is a bit above and it's not more expensive. It's not a large store but they do a great job to focus on everything you want and the larger aisles are very pleasant and not overwhelming. Their produce is especially fantastic. It's always fresh and really high quality. All departments from the: fresh fish, meats, deli and bakery are always stocked with higher quality offerings and at prices you normally pay for a lower quality at other supermarkets. The checkout is a breeze and the parking is very accessible and efficient. They are a level above and obviously...
Read moreI was hopeful when Big Y was coming to town because ( stop and shop sucks! ) and for the first few weeks it was good. Well not long after that employees were not friendly and liked to stare. I went to big y today to return a box of coffee pods that I didnât realize was decaf. I walked in the store went right to customer service and wound up waiting for someone to come. Finally someone ( along with 3 other female employees) came back the customer service person was Gwen. She didnât acknowledge me, one of her 3 employee friends had to tell her twice that I was waiting and needed help. There was no apology, no thank you and I had to tell her to charge me for a bag and I had to get my own bag. Iâm DONE !! big y is just like stop and shop!! I will continue to shop at Trader Joeâs, Whole Foods and Stew Leonardâs. Employees with attitude will crush...
