I used to be a regular here, at least once a week I would order to-go. Occasionally, going there on a weekend for hibachi or the sushi bar. I recently went and ordered my usual, chicken tempura rolls, but this time I ordered a spider roll. Firstly, it took them about 45 minutes to give me my order, I am a very patient person but when two couples next to me received their rolls first I was a little upset. Secondly, I ate my chicken tempura rolls and told my waitress that I did not receive my spider roll but it was okay because I didn’t want it anymore. After waiting that long and already eating some chicken I was over it. This is when I asked for my check. Came out to $65 roughly. No big deal because that’s not much more than what is usually spent there but I see they charged me $10 for the spider roll. I brought this to my waitresses attention and she said the spider roll was given to me but it looks and tastes like chicken. I asked for a manager and got to speak with a dude who said he was the owner. He started screaming at me saying I was lying and that he made my order himself. I asked if he could point the spider roll out on my dish because I only had about 4 pieces and he would not. Lets just say I will NOT be going back to this place I’m a regular at for over 2 years. If anyone has any recommendations where I can get sushi with better staff, I am...

My wife, her friend and baby went in for lunch and requested a high chair. They were given a high chair that was BROKEN and the baby fell out!! When asked to speak to a manager, the short one was very argumentative and dismissive of what happened. His response was “all of our high chairs are broken and we are really busy so I have to go”.
Are you serious!! A baby fell out of your broken high chair and you dismissed it as if it were nothing. As a working restaurant General Manager, I would NEVER treat any situation like this. It doesn’t matter how busy it is, how overwhelmed you were. This baby who fell through your high chair and banged her head, in common sense, took priority over food. No incident report was offered, no corporate number was provided, not even an apology nor comp.
Instead, because of their nerves and worry, they decided to add on an automatic gratuity that is not stated anywhere in the building. They asked for a menu before check out to make sure this was accurate, they checked the front at the host stand for any signs that might’ve stated this automatic gratuity and nothing was present that an automatic gratuity was going to be placed, let alone for a party of 2 and a half.
We will be seeking legal action because of this matter, something that could’ve been quietly...
Read moreMy husband and I live in Wethersfield and have been here many times, usually for drinks and sometimes also for dinner at the bar. I should specify we have always eaten or had drinks at the bar only, never in the hibachi rooms. The owner, John, is a competent and friendly man, and so are his staff. My husband loves the sashimi. It's very fresh. Our only complaint has nothing to do with the food... it's an atmosphere thing. This is a family owned place, and the children are there through the dinner hour, and they are very active. The younger children run through the bar, (tonight one had a plastic nerf-like gun and was aiming it at a hibachi room), they tantrum at times, play loud games within four feet of the bar on cell phones. They seem to own the place. The woman who tries to manage them (perhaps their grandmother?) has limited control. I've noticed that a few regular patrons look forward to seeing the children and have formed relationships with them, which is not a bad thing at all. But I think it's a bit dangerous for kids to be running around any restaurant, much less a bar area... and it's distracting when you're there for a quiet drink/dinner after a long week. John, we appreciate your and your family's hard work...it must be difficult keeping a restaurant in business. Perhaps there's a better place for your kids to be cared for...
