Indulge by Palazzo — Restaurant in Wethersfield

Not going to lie, I was excited to try this place. However, I came here a little after 10am and there was one customer in front of me buying a smoothie and the only lady working was ringing her out and I watched as the worker handled the customers debit card to pay and then went right to me to ask what I'd like. It was then my turn and I ordered an 8 count of donuts with different toppings, I noticed she did not wear gloves or wash her hands in between handling the customers debit card before me and touching all my donuts, she then came and took my payment and took my payment card to insert into the register and was pressing different buttons on the register then went back to touching the donuts (frosting, dipping, sprinkling, etc with NO gloves). I should of spoke up and said something but I honestly felt bad she seemed very busy with the donut orders lined up on the counter for people to come pick up. I threw the donuts away without even eating them because I found the whole thing VERY unsanitary. I was excited for this place but if this is how they handle food that people will be eating I can't say I'd recommend it.

As I head into my 3rd trimester (yay! We’re almost to 28 weeks!)... I thought to myself, what better time than to ‘Indulge’ a little. 🤰🏼

If you haven’t been, you’re missing out on these sweet little treats. (No pun intended). That’s right, your eyes aren’t fooling you - these are ‘MINI DONUTS’! 🍩 Not only are they mini, but protein packed and non fried. My favorite... gosh, so hard to choose! Probably Funfetti. The frosting is not too sweet and light. And if needed you can always get a protein shake to accompany those donuts.

The physical location of Indulge in nestled into a nice plaza in Wethersfield, right on the Silas Deane Highway with ample parking. The store has plenty of room to space out and is clean and COVID safe. Customer service is exceptional, not only is it a family run business but everyone is so friendly and eager to answer your questions.

I’ve been a handful of times since they opened. Every staff member that I’ve interacted with has exceeded customer service expectations. Most people typically seem entirely displeased to be working with the public, but not here. They have a wide variety of protein & non-protein donuts as well as protein drinks such as shakes & protein coffee. They support local which I love a small local shop supporting another! They carry & serve Perkatory coffee & sell Blue Chip ice cream sandwiches. I’ve had both the protein & non-protein donuts - they’re alright. I found the base of the donut itself to be rather bland. The shakes are decent, I’d grab one if I was in the area but I wouldn’t go out of the way to grab one. Definitely...
