Sometimes I get hesitant about restaurants that have large menus, but after trying 4 different dishes (potato pancakes, pastrami sandwich with chicken tortilla soup, Loukoumada french toast, and Spartan omelet), I’m confident that everything on their menu would be yummy! Everything had great flavors (fresh, not too salty, not to sweet) and portions were generous. Everything was also reasonably priced. We left sooo full and when reheated at home, everything tasted just as good. In addition to the food, what takes this place over the top was the friendly and attentive service. We were never without water or coffee, seated and served quickly even though it was busy, and you can tell the staff has love and respect for each other and their guests! 10/10 would recommend and I will definitey be back!

Took a star off because there was barely any service. Place feels VERY cramped especially if seated in the middle, I will probably get to-go next time. The Hershey’s devil’s delight pancakes are to die for. One of the best pancakes I’ve ever had! It has chocolate chips, ganache and choco icecream alongside with whipped cream and strawberries, so dang delicious! Toast was average but omelette was pretty good. I’ve already returned more than once for the chocolate pancakes! Anyway there needs a better system for checking in because we were skipped over when we were there :-(

Clean, well run restaurant of 40 years. Quick, polite service and a large menu to please everyone, including the kiddies! Dividers between booths and masks required for everyone, allows all patrons to feel safe from viruses. Our coffee and breakfast came out quick, hot, and delicious. I had scrambled eggs over biscuits and sausage gravy and he had two crepes stuffed with strawberries (glazed-not fresh). Reasonable prices and friendly, efficient service = 5 ***** !

I understand that it's around the holidays and they're short-staffed, but we had to wait a solid hour between the time our order was taken and the food arriving - even though many carry-out orders were fulfilled in the meantime.

Given how long we waited for the food, I would expect a discount or a more sincere apology. I have no problem with the server and I tipped them 15% - it's a problem with management. When we approached the manager to pay our bill, he asked us how was everything and we said we waited an hour for our food and he said "Really, it can't be!" and checked the timestamp of our receipt before being slightly apologetic. Then he asks "do you want to leave a tip?" with a tone that suggested that he didn't expect us to because of the delay. Why would you screw your workers like that? It wasn't their fault that you're prioritizing carry-out orders over in-person customers! What terrible management and shame on them - maybe the way he handled the tip question is a reflection of how they treat their employees in general, which might be way they're short-staffed in the kitchen?!

Also, they pack in way too many tables for the size of the kitchen and kept seating new tables even when there were a bunch of people still waiting a long time for their food. They should let people know when they're waiting for a table that the food wait might be long and let us decide before seating us - if i had known I would need to wait an hour even after my order was taken, i would have gone somewhere else and I would probably come again because i'd appreciate their transparency and honesty. Telling me after I'm done with my meal was too late. If they're so short-staffed in the kitchen, they should've either stopped seating so many people or stopped taking so many...

A Homely Haven

The Original Granny's is a cozy retreat that delights patrons with its charming ambiance, diverse selection, and warm hospitality. Our recent visit to this quaint establishment left us thoroughly impressed and eager to share our experience.

Upon stepping inside, we were enveloped in a sense of nostalgia, as if entering the home of a beloved family member. The decor exuded homely vibes, inviting us to unwind and savor the moment. The staff, true to their reputation, greeted us with genuine smiles and a genuine eagerness to assist.

The menu boasted a variety of options to cater to every palate, from classic comfort foods to innovative creations. However, what truly captured our attention was the inclusion of savory crepes—an unexpected yet delightful addition to the culinary lineup. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, expertly crafted and immensely satisfying.

Throughout our meal, the atmosphere buzzed with warmth and camaraderie, as diners exchanged stories and laughter, creating a sense of community that is rare to find in today's fast-paced world. It was evident that The Original Granny's is not just a restaurant but a gathering place for friends and families alike.

In conclusion, our experience at The Original Granny's was nothing short of exceptional. With its inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and delectable offerings, it's no wonder that this establishment has become a beloved fixture in the community. Granny's is... How can I describe this place. It feels like I took a step back in time to my childhood. It has a very late 80's, early to mid 90's kind of feel. It's comfortable.

The staff was friendly, but didn't check on us very often. They weren't busy, and we went a good 15 or 20 minutes with no refills on unfortunately small glasses of soda and even smaller glasses of water.

That said, I couldn't complain any further if I tried. The menu is diverse without feeling overcrowded, the booth we sat in was more comfortable than most, and the table was a perfect size for all our food.

The food itself more than made up for what few complaints I had. I ordered a make-your-own omlette with sausage, mushrooms, onions and jalapenos in it, plus one egg (to make 4 total). Their omlettes are cooked in a special convection oven according to the menu, and the result is a delicious, super fluffy brick of eggy goodness. I promise, it's way better than it looks or sounds.

I traded out my hash browns for their French fries and was NOT disappointed. I don't know what kind of seasoning they use, but the fries were wonderful.

The two I was with got nutella pancakes and cinnamon roll pancakes. Both spent the entire mean exclaiming how good the food was, and have promptly passed out into a food coma since we got back to our hotel.

We're in town for 5 days in the Deerfield area, and we've decided we're definitely going to have to come back here...
