I usually eat here every Tuesday for taco Tuesday since their location is closer to where I live than the Mobberly location. The food isn't as good as that location, but it's good enough to take care of the crave. They have daily specials which is good; they vary. All of my food is always fresh, but this time the cook put brown pieces of lettuce on my tacos. Yuk; I removed the lettuce. The meat wasn't spicy this time; it was barely seasoned; the beans are always very bland, but I bring/use my on seasoning; they were really soupy this time, and there was barely any cheese or tomatoes on the tacos. The sweet tea was watery, but the chips and salsa are always amazing. We ordered flour tortillas with honey & butter but will not do that again; we didn't know they were not free like the other Mexican restaurants. The waitress was not good at all; she sat down to eat, never came to refill our drinks, chips or salsa; another customer had to yell to get her attention to come assist them. But they look for a tip always. The cook need to not put brown lettuce on the tacos and the servers need to be attentive to customers. There were only 6 customers in there so there shouldn't have been a problem. Also the food wasn't hot this time (I don't know if it was just sitting or what, but the meat, beans and rice were lukewarm to almost cool. If they would care if enough maybe there would be more people to frequent the restaurant always like the one in Longview; this one is off a busy highway they should have a steady...
Read moreThe place is clean, with plenty of tables despite the demure footprint. Family restaurant where the older teen kids of the family are working alongside their folks, little ones sitting quietly playing word games. The food was great! Homemade and seasoned perfect! They bring you a carafe of salsa, & endless chips. The whole order (vs a scoop) of guacamole was amazing and only $5! You, and everybody gets their own little salsa dish! Nice touch! Fresh rice & beans. High quality beef: steak fajitas tender with a little fat and no gristle, tacos made with chopped fried beef, not ground. Cheese enchalads was made out of high quality smooth cheese. Not sure if it's Mexican style or American. I'm guessing Mexican. The service was great because it was being given by young people who were being trained to provide detailed attentive service while learning how to communicate the menu and options very well. After we got our food, They checked on us no less than three times and kept our cups filled! This was a treat to see! Worth a big tip. Way to go Mom & Dad! You're...
Read moreWe came here because the place we wanted to eat at was closed down. The food was so basic with NO flavor. We were extremely disappointed in the quality...well lack there of. The chicken was boiled. The tamales we're ground beef (only option) and had no flavor. Everything was smoothered in shredded cheese. The rice and beans were bland as well. The sweet tea was good...that's probably the only thing I enjoyed. The service was wonderful. We were greeted as soon as we came in and asked if we wanted refills twice. I wouldn't recommend it and I won't be back. Good service....
