We sat at the bar for 15 minutes with open seats at the bar and never got served. Apparently on our departure we were called a "Karen" because we cut in front of other people waiting even though there were 6 open seats at the bar. Very strange system....... And to "the owner" who replied to this review.....when I checked in with your host I told him "we'll just wait at the bar and order a drink" and this staff member did not tell me I couldn't. If there are open seats at the bar and people waiting for tables it is assumed that you can step up to the bar to order a drink. It's assumed everyone else waiting by the door wanted only food. Don't get angry at us for trying to give your business some hard earned money by wanting a drink while we waited for a table. Have a discussion with your host who should have told us we couldn't use open seats at the bar. Better yet have a conversation with your bartenders to serve us a drink and inform us that the seats at the bar are used as "tables" and we would need to take our drinks back by the door but at least serve us. Again, strange system as we all know it's the alcohol that makes you more money for...
Read moreThere was a long line of people waiting out front. I went in to provide the hostess with our name and happened to be holding a bottle with liquid in it - litter from the parking lot. I always pick up litter and throw it away out of habit. The bartender assumed it was an outside beverage and charged towards me and confronted me in a rude and hostile manner before I could tell the host my name. I would suggest politely informing customers of your policy instead of assuming it is some kind of overt act of disrespect. After reading the negative reviews it appears there is a pattern of hostility towards customers. I am expecting a hostile response from the owner devoid of taking accountability for her not properly training her employees to be polite and courteous to customers. There is even a somewhat hostile no animals allowed sign out front which explains the owners opinion that a service animal must be on a certain type of leash and trained to do a specific task or it doesn’t qualify, in her eyes, as a service dog. There are better restaurants nearby if you find yourself at this restaurant you have...
Read more100% the place you need to get dinner if you’re in Paradise or passing through seeing Tequahmenon Falls. THIS is the feeling I chase every time I dine out. The blueberry old fashioned quickly secured its spot on my Top 5 Cocktails I’ve found in the wild. Everything else after that kept getting better and better.
If you have kids, they do the classic “paper table cloth with crayons” freestyle art on the table thing, which our kids quickly filled with mazes and monsters and rainbows.
I was surprised by their more cultured palettes in a land of predominantly American style only - including Banh Mi Tacos and Korean BBQ wings.
Finally, you can’t leave without getting one of their epic desserts. You will not miss them as they occasionally float past your table to some other lucky Yooper or Tourist.
Finish dinner early so you still have time to shine a bright UV light at the rocks on the beach just down the road so you can find Yooper Lights!
I thoroughly enjoyed this spot. My husband has regretfully informed me that we cannot make the 5 hour trip up here as regularly as I’d like, so please visit for me...
