It was a great dining experience and good food that was highlighted by the special efforts of one young hostess. She was very pretty and pleasant and wearing a pink shirt. Later, I learned that her name was Riley More (sp?.) Obviously, she was good at her job, but what separated her this one Indian summer evening was that she went "above and beyond the call of duty" to help me and my family out. I rushed back into the restaurant in a hectic state because I lost my car keys. Riley calmed me down and walked me back to my table and reassured that we would find them. After a painful and scary few minutes, she was able to retrieve my keys from the dirty dishes and get me and my family home safely. When she could have "played dumb" and loosely cared, Riley More solved the problem and helped a forgetful old man out in the best way possible.
In a post-pandemic world, my family and I were first scared to go out to the restaurants for our safety. Then, as things improved, we were upset to find out that restaurant experiences lacked the same kind of relaxing, family-feel that we had in the past. Employees did not care, restaurateurs did not maintain upkeep, and the restaurants, themselves, became a blight on communities. This was NOT the case at Apple Annie's in Fairmont. If anything, Apple Annie's and a pretty, young lady hostess not only restored my faith in eating out, she may have restored my faith in humanity. Thanks, Riley......
Read moreThis was my husband and my first time going to Apple Annie's and we had a terrible first visit. First off, when someone specifically asks for a booth the hostess should do everything they can to seat the customer where they want to be seated. I realize the only booths open were for more than two people but you need to also realize that when a customer asks twice nicely to be seated at a booth you should find a way to do it. Instead we were seated at a half booth half table beside the door with customers coming in and out constantly and people walking back and forth behind us. This was not a pleasant experience. We placed our orders and waited as everyone got their food around us even the people who came 20 minutes after us. The waitress did come by twice to tell us that our food would be right out so we waited. When the people who came 20 minutes after us were almost done with their food I finally asked someone if our food was ever coming and she went to check. They did finally bring it but at that point we were angry and ready to leave so we did. It is a shame we were treated this way because we dine out a good bit and tip well. Now instead I will be telling anyone who asks that this is not the...
Read moreThe first time I had great service and the food made me want to come back. Well I grabbed a seat across from the register because my father needs help walking. We recived the menus and drinks then that was it. I tried getting attention by placing menus on the table beside us, had them hanging off our table and nothing. So I went for eye contact.soon as it was made the person I made eye contact with would look away. You know this happened before to me before at other restaurants because my look I didn't expect it from this place. Six people behind the counter at the register.my pops and invisible three strides away right in front of the pastry case. I did go up to pay for our ice tea and a elderly gentleman did apologize and didn't charge me. Thank you for that sorry that my father and I didn't meet the requirements...
