UNCOMFORTABLE BIZARRE EXPERIENCE. My family and I went to dine here today, 9/28/2023 around 3pm. We were seated immediately and then shortly after our waitress Chelsea came over and greeted herself and asked what drinks we’d like. We ordered a potato soup right off the bat along with 3 waters. A few moments later another waitress delivered our water, then Chelsea came back over and told us that they’re in between a shift change and that we will have a new waitress taking care of us named Julie, then she rushed away. Julie was fine, but during our early dinner Chelsea was still walking around assisting her other tables. After we paid our bill and took our daughter to the restroom we began walking out towards the front past where we were sitting. Chelsea didn’t see us, our table was already clean, then we heard her start greeting another table and letting them know she will be their waitress… we were so confused and thrown off. We kept getting strange looks from the staff. I’m multiracial and the rest of my family is white, I don’t want to make this a race thing… but I’m not Karen, we didn’t have no problems or have previously known anyone at this restaurant, we sat down quietly and were respectful to everyone we met there… but the service was not given equal. I’ve been working customer service for almost 10 years and this was one of the worst resultants I’ve ever been to. The food was almost all terrible, we got the regular ravioli and it was watery on the Inside and the sauce was bland. My potato soup was actually really good. But mozzarella sticks were undercooked and tasted freezer burnt. I’ve been to this location a few times in the past with my grandparents and never really had good service but it was never this awful. The energy of this place has been completely depleted, the vibe is just not positive. We felt uncomfortable the entire time and after this experience we will...
Read moreI would like to start with Armstrong's was our go to place for Birthday celebrations, funeral lunches and meals with family. I am disappointed in the quality of the food in recent visits. Everyone is blaming Covid - but that is not the problem. The restaurant is under new management (or ownership) and they are relying on the good food and reputation of prior years. There is no respect or good will with this current management. Two weeks ago I fainted as I was leaving the restaurant - they called an ambulance as per their protocol (which I understand) no one from Armstrong's came up to me to try to help. The customers in the lobby waiting for their tables were all trying to help. After the ambulance came an employee gave my husband an incident report to fill out. The paramedics checked my vital signs and gave me an EKG and I was released to go home. I was charged for the ambulance and because I did not have to go to the hospital my insurance will not pay for it. I contacted Armstong's to talk to the owner-was told I would have to call their office manager Linda-who then informed me that she had to talk to Christine the owner. After 4 days I called back and was to they would do nothing to help. There comment was there Insurance told them not to pay the bill. I was not trying to implicate them in any way - I just fainted. I would have not called an ambulance - I would have gotten up and gone home. My family has spent hundreds of dollars at this place in the last few years. Their immediate assumptions that I was "after" something was insulting. I will not be going back to this restaurant, not that they care, I needed to make you aware of their attitude. There are many, many great restaurants in the area. One in Caste Village. Eventually Christine will ruin...
Read moreThe best part about Armstrongs is the food. As a former employee I've had my fair share of whats on the menu and I can certainly tell you it is never bad. The portion sizes are on the larger side and everything is tasty. The cooks are clean with their hands and all wear hairnets and hats. The kitchen is cleaned nightly and Armstrongs is by far one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever seen. The dining room is cool in the summer and warm in the winter, the booths are comfortable but I'd prefer a chair. The music is sort of lame while the television at the bar is always up to date with news and sports. The bar is clean and provides plenty of mixed beverages. The bartenders tend to be managers btw. One important factor for most at a restaurant is the cleanliness of the restroom, and I gotta say the restroom is kept together very well. The biggest downfall of the restaurant is the wait time, sometimes on a Saturday or Sunday evening you could look at wait times over 30 minutes, yes that means a lot of people want to eat the amazing food, but it also means you'll be waiting around for a while. Another problem is the dishwashers, sometimes the dishes arent in the best conditions but I'm sure the cooks review them before sending them out, just know that sometimes they aren't perfect. I hope this lumpsome of information helped someone looking into going to Armstrongs. I...
