It's been at least 7-10 years since I've been Into a GC, and I think this one was the last one I visited. I would come every so often but stopped coming after quality went down. After this last visit, it hit me like a ton of bricks on why I stopped coming and probably won't be back. From start to finish:
Staff who welcomed you in: excellent and friendly. The two servers that took care of us: Also excellent and friendly. That's were the goodness stops. Price paid for three people (adult, senior and child: $46.82) Value for the money: not even close to good. Most of the food options weren't out and didn't become an option until more people came into the restaurant, which I guess is normal so that's a toss up, but for what you pay, you would have figured that they'd be food in every single buffet section there is.
The older gentleman who was working the grill house grill not only wasn't paying attention to people's requests of medium or medium well steak request but was constantly on his phone checking it while there were at least of two or three people growing in the line waiting for something from him. The other workers behind the grill were standing around conversing more than anything else. Again, those who were on the sitting side of service were taking care of customers and actually doing their job in an extremely attentive and friendly way. Our servers made sure that we constantly had drinks and we're taking plates as fast as we were cleaning them, so there were no complaints there. About 30 or so minutes into our meal, there was an influx of people coming in for dinner and workers behind the grill seemed to move a little bit more than they were but that consistency of customer service should have been the same prior to them coming in. They also seem to be more concerned about children going up for food unattended than they were about the consistency of the food or being attentive to customers needs.
The bathrooms were a HOT. MESS. Floors slippery (best guess as to what). Also covered in wet toilet paper, floaters in the toilets, strong odor of what I assume was feces, urine and overall uncleanness. If they were to be checked every 15 or 30 minutes, they weren't being checked at all.
Overall, I'm giving it a 1 out of 5. The staff on the dining room end of service was great but the hang ups on the food serving side and the food in general just won't allow me to give it anything higher. I get it, it's not Michelin star dining, but it could and should have been way better than that.
Tl:Dr, server/entry service good, food servers behind the grill not so much. Food was not worth it either. Not worth the money paid. Might come back in another seven or either years. I miss Ryan's...
Read moreWent here for the first time in a LONG time. Food was good. In my opinion I find the dinner price a little high. Even for a buffet. It's even more than my favorite local Chinese buffet (and while they did have Chinese opinions here I would not try them liking Chinese as much as I do but my boyfriend tried all of there Chinese and said it was poor quality) so I'm glad I didn't get that. It definitely would have done a number on my stomach. The MOST part that I'm giving the TWO stars is because I felt VERY uncomfortable and this was because after I had went up the first time with my boyfriend I didn't notice anything but THEN when he had went up to get another plate and I was left at the table alone, I noticed an older man (worker) even believe he may have been the manager of that shift walking back and forth with his arms held behind his back staring at me and looking at me and smirking at me then the other young men that were works (until my boyfriend got back mostly) he would even think that just because he passed a wall that had windows on it and proceed to look/stare at me that way (I could still see through but my boyfriend could not) it got so bad to the point he even had the younger men following him and what he was doing. It was VERY CLEAR what they were doing and was VERY creepy. As I was telling my boyfriend about it I tell my boyfriend "it's sad to see an older man teaching the younger this is "ok"" then ask my boyfriend "do men/people know or understand if you find ANYONE pretty, beautiful, nice looking (partner or not) it IS okay to tell/give ANYONE a simple compliment like "you are very pretty" or gorgeous, ect." " and my boyfriend then replies to me with " a lot people unfortunately don't understand that nowdays. " it's just sad and very creepy and would be for anyone. Especially when you have the younger following you in something you know is not correct. Needless to say I didn't get my moneys worth and didn't even get dessert because I wanted to get out of there so badly and was so uncomfortable. Oh ya one more thing. One of the younger workers following the older workers actions actually took the time out of his LUNCH to make sure he went down the buffet next to/by me to which my boyfriend followed me the whole time and even made sure to get a table RIGHT by us. It's a shame you can't even go out to a public place to eat and feel so...
Read moreOkay it was my birthday so I decided that me and my best friend we would give it a shot mind you I was always a big fan of HomeTown Buffet I always thought they were the best but I figured since there was a free meal involved how bad could it be it was as bad as I thought let me say this the staff was incredible attentive gracious helpful on top of it the place itself they need to start all over everything on the salad bar was either old or cold and it tasted as such we walked the whole place looking for a knife finally we alerted our waiter that we did not have one cuz they give you a fork when you come in and he was able to manage to get us one halfway through our meal nothing looked appetizing or fresh everything they were serving food out of it look like it needed to be more thoroughly and cleaned up it just was not a great experience it wasn't what you would expect a buffet to be it just felt like you was at a family member's house who don't clean well and you are almost scared to indulge in anything that's been cooked cuz the bathroom is dirty speaking of which the bathroom was dirty just not a good look for the sole survivor of the buffets they took Ryan's they took HomeTown Buffet and both of them were better than Golden Corral all alone I don't know how Golden Corral got to stay but they sure aren't showing any appreciation for the fact that they made the cut is all I'm saying but thank you for the meal I picked over a few things and like I said there was a little flavor there but they're definitely were not any heat to warm the flavors up cuz most of the food was cold and it didn't show very well which kept me from trying a...
