Monte Real Mexican restaurant — Restaurant in Wichita Falls

Please don’t waste your time and money eating here. I support local and I thought I would give them a try but it was horrible the chicken fried steak it was so tough I couldn’t even it it my son didn’t eat his either. The size of it was like a child’s size and also they advertise that you get the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and french fries and then you go inside and they tell you that you can only have one or the other my son got mashed potatoes and they wasn’t even mashed potatoes. They were fried potatoes so I don’t understand how you could get the two mixed up, because fried potatoes and mashed potatoes are a big difference so also my husband got the Pastor taco plate. The pastor was so hard and crumbly. It had no flavor to it at all. I definitely will not be coming back here. The service was bad the atmosphere the people were rude all around only gave one star because I had to because if I could, I would give this place no stars. Here’s a picture of my plate, which I asked for mashed potatoes and a salad. I told him I would pay extra for the salad. and here’s what I get for my salad, just lettuce and tomatoes only that definitely is not what I call a salad....

I hate to give this place a bad review since it is the closet place to me. We tried them 8/19/25 and it should have told me when we had to wait 30 minutes to even get a table and I couldn’t smell Mexican food with an open visible kitchen. Not because they were busy but only had two very slow men waiting tables. We again after getting our table had to wait literally almost an hour. The food came and was bland. I never put anything on my enchiladas but today I tried salsa and queso to try to get some type of flavor. It’s a No Return for us. Now I must say the salsa and the rice was great. We for some reason got styrofoam cups for our drinks when everyone else got regular glasses. And people that came way after us also got served before us. Not friendly, No Atmosphere. I’m afraid...

Hands down the best Mexican food in town. Salsa and queso are amazing. I've eaten here twice and the entrees are great as well. Service can be a tad slow but they are running on a skeleton crew so just be patient. They could help themselves out so much just by turning on some music to break up the silence it feels a bit like eating in a library. I really hope they last the food is just so so good and the prices are...
