A local burger joint with four locations in the Wichita Metro, Bionic Burger used to be a solid choice for a sandwich, a side, and a drink. Keywords, "used to be." As recently as 2022, Bionic Burger scored a respectable 51 out of a possible 63 points on the Bachelor on the Cheap Burger Challenge scorecard, earning 4 out of 5 Bachelor on the Cheap stars and deeming it satisfying, wallet-friendly, and repeat visit worthy. That it's a local establishment, adds to a repeat visit preference. But the last couple of visits have not been repeat-worthy. For a casual Monday night dinner, my girlfriend Jennifer and I decided on Bionic Burger, it's conveniently located close to my home and has historically been a solid choice. We didn't go for burgers, as they have a variety of other sandwich options on the menu, which have been good in the past. Now, not so much... Here's what was ordered: Jennifer: Pork Tenderloin sandwich, with lettuce, tomato, mayo, onion rings side, and a Dr. Pepper to wash it down with. Mike: Grilled Chicken sandwich, with lettuce, tomato, pickles, honey mustard, a tater tots side, and a lemonade. Hitting the drive-thru on her way to my place at around 5:30 pm, the lady taking Jennifer's order was either totally distracted or just didn't care to listen... Rookie at the window during the dinner rush? Doubtful. Seemingly confused, she had to ask Jennifer for clarification on what sandwich needed the honey mustard. The confusion didn't stop there, the drinks were screwed up, and Jennifer was handed two Dr. Peppers at the drive-thru window. Jennifer caught it, as lemonade doesn't have caramel coloring, so that was corrected immediately. But that got Jennifer thinking, "If they screwed the drinks up, and didn't know what condiment went on what sandwich, what else did they screw up?" Not wanting to hold up the drive-thru line, Jennifer pulled aside and checked the meal orders. Sure enough, instead of tater tots for my side, Bionic served up french fries. Instead of a grilled chicken sandwich, Bionic prepped a fried chicken sandwich. Inside Jennifer went to get things corrected. So much for drive-thru convenience. After getting things straightened out, Jennifer made the less than five-minute drive to my place. This was a "Meh" meal from Bionic Burger. My sandwich was decent, the chicken was properly cooked, but a bit underseasoned coming from the 'grill' (flat top) and over-dressed with the honey mustard. The disappointment of my combo was the Tater Tots, which looked crispy, but were soggy, and fell apart when picked up. To be fair, part of that could have been steam from the heat of the meal in the bag on the drive home, but the tots weren't wrapped too tight, were properly packed at the top of the bag and the drive was not long (and soggy hasn't been an issue in the past). Besides, the onion rings were nicely crisp and crunchy. Jennifer's tenderloin was also decent but lacked a "Wow" factor. As we ate, both Jennifer and I stated, "There's better (insert sandwich and/or side here) to be had elsewhere. Costing just under $22 for two sandwiches, two sides, and two drinks, I'm giving Bionic Burger 3 out of 5 Bachelor on the Cheap Stars. The East Harry location in my humble opinion has gone downhill in service and meal quality. Given the last couple of visits to the joint, it's no longer a solid choice for a convenient meal. I love to promote local restaurants, but I can't recommend Bionic Burger at this time. $pend Wisely My Friends... ~ Mike

One of the legendary burger stops of Wichita, just east of Hillside and Harry. For this visit, I was in the neighborhood and was hungry for a good old fashioned burger, which is what Bionic is known best for. Unfortunately the counter service was chippy and did not take the right order from me. I went with the wrong meal anyway since it was a classic double cheeseburger and it was actually pretty good around the edges, but was a soggy mess in the middle which I couldn’t finish. Thankfully the fries were crispy and tasted great, and the dining area was clean and roomy. Overall, this burger place is surely better than the alternatives in the area but I wouldn’t recommend driving any amount of distance for a meal here.

Don’t waste your money or your time.Worst Philly cheese steak I’ve ever had. There was enough meet to cover half the bread that was so soggy it fell apart when I picked it up. The sauce and mushrooms on the Philly were obviously microwed for way too long and I couldn’t bite into it for 20 minutes the sauce was so over microwaved it wouldn’t cool down, just burning hot bullcrap flavorless trash. I was baked and really tried to eat it too. The bread isn’t toasted. Just a plain cheap soggy bun. Just lame and overpriced garbage. The corn dogs and fries were nothing special either. Mushroom Swiss had mushrooms on one side of the burger. Was just trash. I’ll never waste my money there again. I do not recommend at all.

Would never go here again & honestly hope no one else does. I ordered online, the total for 3 meals & 2 additional sides was $53. It was a little high but we hadn't had Bionic Burger in a really long time & I wanted to give them a fresh try.

We picked up the food through the drive through & it looked mostly correct until we started unpacking at home. The bacon cheeseburger had only meat & bread; also I was missing the tator tots with jalapeno seasoning. Thinking we could just run to the store to fix it-we went back. When we got there, we went inside. Immediately we were interrupted several times trying to explain the issue. Then we were told we had never ordered online until my husband explained we even signed the credit receipt. Then the young girl at the drive through was confronted & asked why she didn't count the items. She replied she did, then the general manager Steve had to be called. All this time-my son was waiting to have dinner & we were missing a meal after spending $53. Steve said nothing could be done until we could call back & talk to him after 1030 the next morning. The woman at the counter pointed out the receipt was wrong on their side for what we had ordered-- but then i have the website screenshot showing the order for the bacon cheeseburger that was written out correctly so clearly there is an app issue in ordering. I had to then drive to another restaurant to get my husband another meal at this point. I can't believe the amount of disrespect & disregard --not to mention actually taking my money without giving me the food AND calling me a liar. 10/10-this is the worst experience in Wichita & biggest waste...

My cousin went in today and grabbed us lunch, half way through my meal a #10 I noticed hair in my food so I opened my bun and there was a BUNCH of hair in my food.. I was completely disgusted!!! If this is what their employees are doing to customers food this is absolutely ridiculous..!!! I went to the store to talk to the manager and a nice lady at the counter went to get the manager for me. After I waited for about 5 minutes... she told the manager this lady is out here waiting to talk to you.. He finally came out and as I started to talk to him he told me that there was no way there was hair in it that he made it and accused me of having some "black" guy come in demanding free food because his wife's #10 had hair in it.. I told him I didn't have anyone come in and obviously there were other customers with the same issue as me! After he walked off into the back and came back and accused me of posting pictures to Facebook?? This is the kind of person they have in management?? Very unprofessional. I didn't even get an apology but yet a bunch of accusations.. I'm normally not one to write reviews but I felt very disgusted and disrespected by the manager of this establishment!!! I work in management and would never treat my customers the way he treated me. I will...
