Dog-N-Shake — Restaurant in Wichita

We ordered a little bit of everything being as though this was my first time in. Now immediately I want to say my body does not like fried food so this was a difficult meal for me due to this. No other reason. I didn't know what to expect walking in so this place has almost completely fried food menu. Burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches of the like. They have onion rings and fries. Their portions are huge! We spent just under $40 and got 2 burger hotdog combo meals with half onion rings and half fries, shakes, and chicken rings. The hot dog and burger was really good like classic diner style. Not big not small. The fries were good and cooked well. The onion rings I liked because they seemed homemade, but they didn't taste good. Just no seasonings and the batter used with them I think is a dry batter, I would do a wet batter with how they make them. Maybe throw some beer and seasoning salt in there. Everything was cooked well by a team of men who did a fantastic job. They were friendly and to the point the staff was very great. Overall I got sick from eating all that fried greasy food but the taste was good. I wouldn't do onion rings again probably wouldn't do any fries or chicken rings or anything going in the fryer personally. But I encourage if you have not tried it to give it a Go at least for a burger or hot dog or other sandwich listed on the menu. The chicken rings were pretty good reminded me of Burger King's nuggets from back in the day without the spice. The shakes were really good....

I used to come here quite a bit. But we now eat more home cooked meals. So when we were out and about, I said "hey let's get dog n shake." So we ordered $30 of food for 3 people. That included 2 combos that came with fries, and we wanted onion rings, so we ordered them as well.

While we waited for our food, we came up with a taste testing idea for the best onion rings between 3 fast food places.

So while we were in line at the drive thru for another place, I reached in our dog n shake bag for a French fry only to discover there were none in the bag and no onion rings either.

So we went back. They put the fries and onion rings in the same bag the rest of the food was in, so it didn't fit.

The onion rings were burnt to a crisp and totally inedible. Whoever was working the fryer should have dumped them in the bin and started fresh instead of serving us rubbish.

We won't be choosing this place as an eating out treat...

Let us start from the best things first.

The staff here cares about this business. It's the little things. Manager asked if quality was good after the meal, and wish everyone a fabulous day.

One of the women who work there refilled my drink before I left. The soda foundation was putting out Diet Dr Pepper with good amount of carbonation. She made sure to fill a few times extra after the bubbles briefly subsided.

Fries were perfect. Neatly filing the volume of the sack they were put in.

Two hotdogs I got were old school America dogs. Made my want to fly a flag and then visit the salt mine in 'Hutch so I could keep the warm glow of Kansas alive in my heart. Maybe plant some sunflowers and corn.

This place does what they set out to do. Dogs, Burgers, and Shakes. If you are not happy with what you get, I have no doubts they would make it right
