Cactus Cantina & Grill — Restaurant in Wichita

Not only do I think this may be the best Mexican food in Wichita, it is one of the best culinary experiences in Wichita. The queso certainly is the star, though you would be hard pressed to find something on the menu that is not delicious. When Daniel waited on our table of 8 last night I asked him what he recommended, to which he replied "After 26 years...everything is great." ...and he was right. I asked him to bring me whatever he felt I should try and placed my dining experience completely in his hands. I had a combination of Chicken con Queso with Carne Asada as well as traditional beans and rice...it was...to die for! I was not alone in my love of this dish and the many other dishes at the table, it was a meal to remember. Daniel also made is special margaritas and I'm not kidding...they are also the best in town! Made fresh, real lime juice (not a pre-mix), and they come by the glass or pitcher. The service (as you can tell) was 5 stars, absolutely 5 stars and that was because of Daniel and his team. The atmosphere is casual and feels very much like home with plenty of seating. There is a bar if you want top pop in for a light bite on the go, it is kid-friendly, and the prices are EXTREMELY affordable. Giving a place 5 stars is always a tough call because 5 stars means something different for everyone. Is this a 5 star restaurant? No, not by traditional standards. Is this a 5 star experience? Yes, and then some. Is this the best Mexican food in Wichita? Yes. Is this a local gem that more people should frequent? Absolutely. Will I go back? Consider me the new regular. I Highly recommend going to Cactus Cantina if you haven't already and be sure to try the Chicken con Queso...heck...anything con queso...and the Carne Asada. This will quickly become your favorite Mexican...

Cynthia allensworth obviously you have never been to a restaurant. There are slow times throughout the day. What a normal person would have done is given it a chance and went inside. You would have been given the best dining experience ever. The owner and server is absolutely amazing and not only makes it a great deal ning experience you got to tasted what amazing authentic Mexican food tastes lik.. Also Charles Ellsworth it is authentic Mexican food. It is all created and made from scratch. The chips are never stale the guacamole is extremely amazing the food is not only made from love it's got th best authentic taste. So on that note I would really hate to taste the food at the restaurant you worked at. I'm sure it was absolutely disgusting. Cactus cantina highly recommended. The way you say it wasnt a great dinning experience there are upscale and classy and I'm sure you know nothing about it. As for the lady who stated there was only one car you missed the best dining experience not only in the food but the whole experience. It's a 5 star restaurant by far. Unlike the review left by AE who is clearly one those useless in the way wannabe food critics and judging from their attempt to review everything around just an overall trash person.. my experience at cactus cantina was spectacular the owner is amazing and even though the place was swamped this past weekend he and his whole staff hustled to give the absolute best experience possible even with a line out the door(thanks EB) and around the building. The food was excellent and the margaritas... forget about it, you won't find one better anywhere, this man is an absolute drink assassin 2 margaritas and I'm good 4 and I'm great 6 and I'm flying and calling an uber and in to work,lol, seriously though this place is a wichita gem and it will be a sad sad day in the long long future when this man decides to hang up his hat and call.it a day.......... support local small businesses and please give this place a try, you will not be...
