If you're like me, I'm always on the lookout for a decent burger joint. This was not it. I finally got a chance to stop in with my wife for what was supposed to be a quick lunch. When we arrived, the place was packed which I took to be a good sign, it wasn't. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with onion rings and got the same for my wife but with the fries, so we could try both. We sat there for 30 minutes watching others get their food but not ours. I started getting concerned when I saw people who came in after us getting their food. Finally, one of the staff came over and asked us our number and I showed her my ticket. It had not been started or made and I can only attribute that to them using a second register to take our order. We finally get our food and I asked if I could get some spicy ketchup I saw advertised on a handwritten sign. I was informed that normally they charge for the spicy ketchup, but today she would make an exception. There was no mention of an extra charge on the sign or on the menu and honestly, I was thankful I didn't have to pay for it. It was more like a salsa or Sriracha than it was ketchup. The burger was ok, but there was literally no seasoning on anything, from the burger meat, to the fries and onion rings. The onions they put on the burger were so thickly cut, I was having a hard time biting through them and when they said it came with pickles they certainly didn't hold back and my wife had to pick off quite a few to be able to enjoy her burger. So with the exceptionally long wait time and subpar unseasoned food, I was already not having a good time. Then we also had family of the staff hanging out in a corner booth with several children whom were running all over the restaurant, including under the table me and my wife were sitting at while one of the staff was swinging a little boy by his arms and legs. The whole experience was not worth the cost and I spent an hour to get a burger and onion rings. If that doesn't sound like a deterrence, then by all means give them a try for yourself, but I'd rather go somewhere like West St Burger or Burger Central...
Read moreLet's be honest here, this was the first time at this establishment, and I'm sorry to say I wish I had known sooner about this place. Out of all the burger places I've eaten at in Wichita, this one takes 1st prize. The Double Cheeseburger meal I ordered was melted in your mouth delicious 😋. And I have never been full from just one double cheeseburger before. This thing felt heavy, like 2 lbs heavy or more. And it was very, very delicious, oh, I said that already, lol. Along with my double cheeseburger, I had opted to have the tutor tots instead of fries, and they were perfectly cooked. And the best part of the whole adventure was the very, very kind and speedy service of the staff. The price of the meal was more than perfect compared to other fast food businesses in the city. For my meal, I paid $11.75 with a drink. This, compared to Wendy's or Spangles, was just awesome. I saved a ton. They do have a bathroom, adequate seating, plenty of parking, and a drive thru. It was clean and steady, busy while I was there. I would highly recommend this Hamburger Haven just like the name says to anyone with an appetite for lunch or dinner. (Note to owner) Is there a possibility of an east side location in the future ? I drove from the east side of town to try your burgers, and I was not disappointed. Thank...
Read moreFound this place while on vacation, I was trying to find something different than your average run-of-the-mill chain restaurant (i.e., McDonald’s, Taco Bell, etc.) saw that it had really good reviews, so decided to seek it out.
When you first arrive, the actual restaurant is in roached upon by other restaurants, including three pizza parlors, and it’s in a corner spot, and at first glance, it looks kind of rough, but this is a scenario where you don’t judge a book by its cover
When we entered, we were greeted by the most friendliest staff you could ever meet, and our order was accurate and correct no mistakes.
The food itself, which was the double cheeseburger combo was large proportions, but was delicious, the burger was cooked perfectly, and the french fries and tater tots or amazing, the gentleman who I am, assuming was the owner checked on us to make sure we were OK at least twice, and even came and took our plates for us.
Definitely recommend anytime you’re in the Wichita area very much...
