I pulled up to the speaker. There were 2 cars at the window and no one else in line. After sitting for a minute I said "hello?". An older Caucasian woman says "yes I'm sorry I had my hands full what can I get you today?". I took a second and said 'chicken club meal with a coke' (I'd never been to Freddy's before so I didn't know the options in soda) she replies "3 or 5 piece?". I stuttered out 'um, 5 piece?' "Dr pepper or pespi" 'pepsi' ''Any sauce for that?'' 'Ranch???' She gave me my total and I sat there confused what part of a chicken club meal could be 5 pieces, but never having been to Freddy's in my entire life, I trusted the process. I paid, and drove off with a 5 piece chicken tender meal. I told the window worker (not taking orders) who was very sweet that the lady messed up my order, I had a guest in my car who can defend the situation, I clearly stated Chicken Club. And I took what I had paid for because I couldn't wait another 9 minutes for another meal. I also told the woman at the speaker my name was Sami, she put in Tammy. She might be better at the window or another position, because she is costing you future customers. Probably won't give the Freddy's brand another chance, but that window worker i told about the mess up was genuinely sweet and offered to make it right I just couldn't afford the time, and i wanted someone to know so there could be chance for insight. She deserves 5 🌟. And the chicken tenders were good, I just prefer sandwiches and didn't...
Read moreFreddy’s food is always great. I quite enjoy the shoestring style of fry, and their custard is my favorite. My husband prefers the California style double, and I tried something new and got the jalapeño jack burger. We also got a birthday cake shake, which was kinda what inspired the visit.
All were good but a note to those of you who love Portillo’s cake shakes…. The birthday cake shake might be a little bit of a letdown. 😅 Flavor was great and I love sprinkles so I was happy though.
There isn’t another burger in the fast food game that is really similar to Freddy’s style of burgers (at least that I’m aware of), so when we want that type, this is where we end up.
Unfortunately, I did feel that the customer service was a little lacking during our visit. I don’t really expect anyone to be super happy about helping me out with fast food, but it seems that the staff must have been having a pretty rough day when we visited.
Usually I don’t go into Freddy’s, so I can’t say if that’s a normal experience for this...
Read moreI think there were fewer than 20 Freddy's when I first tried them at this very location. And although I live in Iowa, this is still the Freddy's I most frequently visit because the company refuses to build the Des Moines market despite happily going into every other little crevice of the country. So I guess it's lucky I'm a regular Wichita visitor.
The burgers are hot, juicy, and perfectly sized. They'll make them the way you like (I add mayo to the Original Double). The fries are my absolute favorite, especially topped in cheese sauce. The fact they adopted the Utah tradition of fry sauce just makes them all the more perfect. And you get it all at traditional fast food prices, even though it's so much better quality.
I've had Freddy's in dozens of other locations in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, and California, but you never forget your first. Freddy's may never come to me, so maybe I should...
