Great Wall Restaurant — Restaurant in Wichita

I don't understand some of the scathing reviews some users have given this store.

This is my favorite of the Great Wall group of stores. They have a larger selection than the other stores, as well as more options for comboing your favorites as well as all of the Asian style food that people love.

I've never had a bad meal from this store. It's always hot, delivered quickly, and delicious and as ordered. Portions are large for the money.

I have few problems with the store, and the chain in general. One is the fried rice. While very tasty, the rice is cooked in a broth, and fried lightly, as opposed to prepared from plain white rice. Do not let this turn you away; this is the only chain of resturaunts I will tolerate this from.

My other complaint that's specific to this store is some of the seating. Some of it is in some level of disrepair and could use replacement or repair. That doesn't really hurt my overall view of the store, it's just a comment.

We walked into the restaurant at 11:30, being the first and only customers in the restaurant, the man at the counter was on the phone (taking an order, we waited a few minutes, he then asked the person on the phone to hold, sat the phone down and took our order, then went back to the phone order.. about 5-7 minutes later about 4 employees walked in and started cooking, needless to say we did not get our to-go order until NOON! The man who took our order didn’t tell us nothing was ready or cooked or that there was no one even there to cook the food we ordered, they still had to make the sweet and sour sauce... (watched them do it) No one ever apologized for the wait, never even acknowledged the awful customer service and the portions were small and the food was mediocre! Ordered for delivery. No problems with the food just the delivery driver. Very unprofessional. We usually wait to tip until after we receive order (quite often people will take a pic of your order and then run off with it). So we wanna make sure it's an overall good delivery. As soon as my fiance opened our door to grab the food (which was also late), the driver immediately started harrassing him about giving him a tip. Saying my fiance needed to give him a tip because it was late and he was standing in the cold. It was late but that's because he arrived late and we ordered well ahead of them closing. Also he had only been standing in the cold for 5 seconds before the door was answered. Then the driver was talking about gas fees and such and how his boss pays him hourly. His tone was very loud and not nice. It was a very odd conversation. He literally made my fiance give him a tip or he wasn't leaving. Never ordering from this...
