Was straight treated like trash in this place. Partner and I came in here to get lunch, asked for the beef nachos with a large drink, my partner asked for a chicken nacho with a large drink, she completely misses my partners large drink AFTER I paid for everything and still charged for it. Beef nachos are apparently a side item that I never knew about for over 30 years of going to this place was different compared to the Supreme nachos, partner got the chicken nachos on a full plate and I got trash looking chips with gross overcooked meat and looked like day old cheese. I asked what was the difference and she rudely said "you need to ask for the Supreme" well for one you missed my partners large drink and never repeated the order or specified which nachos were which. I took 3 bites and threw it in the trash while that rude cashier sat in the booth ten minutes after all this went down licking her fingers clean stuffing her face. Way to go. 👌👍
Guy in the kitchen offered to fix it for a small price difference and I was so mad I kindly declined. Tried calling the place after I left to see if I could come to a agreement with a manager but they faked it on the phone like they couldn't hear me and hung up called back again and they left the phone off the hook. You wonder why your other two locations closed. Dont come to work for a paycheck, come to work and actually perform customer service like your supposed to especially a wichita tradition thats been around for many many years. EXPLAIN THE MENU. REPEAT YOUR ORDERS. RIDICULOUS! Its sad man. Crap service and not like it used to be years ago. Honestly I just don't even want to come back after this..
Guy in the kitchen was very nice about it so sir if your reading this, I apologize. Thanks for being...
Read moreTheir food was okay. Good enough I suppose. But it wasn't delicious. The big problem was the value, or lack there of. Their prices are at a minimum twice as much as their competition (Other fast food taco places such as Taco Shop, Taco Tico, Taco Bell) but the food was only average at best. Some items like burritos and sanchos were nearly 3 times the price as the competition. I think they may have thought their reason for going out of business before was because they didn't charge enough so they raised the prices even higher. But the reason they couldn't survive is because they were too expensive so customers simply went elsewhere. Taco Shop has went the other direction and kept their prices low. Any evening cars are lined around the building and the parking lot is full at Taco Shop while Taco Grande has an empty dining room and a car or two in the drive through. Another thing I noticed was 5 employees on the clock standing around doing nothing. Cut your labor cost so you can get your prices down to be competitive and you might just survive a few more years. But your food is no way in a million years worth double everyone...
Read moreMy 85 year old father & I stopped by for lunch today for nostalgia as he once worked at a Taco Grande with the original owners Mike & Rich Foley. We only get to Wichita once every 3-4 years & try to hit a Grande each time. The last time we were here, everything tasted as he remembered it. Good spiced meat, crisp corn tacos, and tasty Refried Beans.
This time however, was VERY DIFFERENT. The tacos were empty and flavorless. The Beef Burritos were also only half-filled, microwaved, and strangely double-wrapped.
If you think adding hot sauce would help, guess again. I'm not a big fan of hot sauces and I drank the sweet red mess like it was Gatorade. (Sad).
And best of all ... 4 Tacos, 2 Beef Burritos, and 2 small sodas were $21.00! Skip this place and hit up any of the many local taquerias that have sprung up on...
