The worst utility company in Wichita to deal with. I set up automatic payments with them this spring so that my bill would be taken out of my account automatically, usually about $30 a month. Like some sort of prehistoric dinosaur they were unable to set it up over the phone like every single other monthly bill I pay, I had to mail the paperwork in to set up the automatic payments. Apparently they did not receive it or it did not get set up properly because they weren't pulling the money from my account and as such a small amount it went unnoticed by me until my water was shut off today while I was home! Did I get a notice in the mail? No Did I get a phone call? No Did I get an email? No Did I get a knock on my door? No Like a sneak thief, their representatives slithered up onto my property, disconnected my water, and jumped in his truck and took off as fast as possible. I watched on my camera system that he was there and gone in 15 seconds. I immediately called in around 12pm and spent an hour on hold, I think they took lunch and didn't answer the phones, only to find out that not only didn't my automatic payments get set up properly but they've been billing me late charges. I'm also going to have to pay a reconnect charge equivalent to what my monthly water bill is and they're not turning me on till the next day. The representative said that they could do reconnects the same day but their reconnect policy for the next business day was actually a punishment to deter people from paying late. Their whole way of doing business is nothing but an archaic cash grab. If they communicated with people rather than punishing them repeatedly through fees, forced shutoffs, and mandatory waiting periods I imagine that the number of people who were late enough to be legitimately disconnected would drop dramatically. Fire whoever set your bs policies, update your computer system, and change your business model to something that benefits your customers and your...
Read moreUPDATED: My bills are consistently running over $100+ a month. After fighting with, this means my bills are 50% higher than when I lived just 5 miles from my current location. There are 2 of us living here, me and my son. He has been fighting cancer for the past 2 years and had extended stays in the hospital, which means NO ONE was at our house, yet our bills would remain over $100+ a month. They do not read the meters. The bills are exactly the same from one month to another, down to the penny. There is absolutely no way that is mathematically possible. You cannot argue with them. At first my bills were $20 a month and I tried to fight about it because I believed they were cheating me. The more I tried to talk to them the higher they raised my bill. They are just a crocked company. You can't fight them or they retaliate by raising your bills. I've tried to find out who they answer to and I cannot. It's like there is zero oversite with this company. They do what they want. They lie. They cheat. They steal. They are just an evil company. There is nothing you can...
Read moreHorrible experience! This was on 8/5/22 between the hours of 9am and 9pm. We had a leak on the main in our yard. The city came out and all he did was do a foot stomp and pretend to say where it was. Apparently he can see underground. Trying to tell us it was our issue when it was clearly within the 4ft range of the city territory. They finally came out and dug it up. Changed the meter at the main. We had our water shut off after they left. When we went back out to turn the water back on after several hours, our yard and driveway were flooded. So they failed to solve the problem or broke something in the process. We called the oncall after hours to put in a work order and it was hard to get a word in edgewise and he had a hard time comprehending the issue that even though our water was shut off our lawn and driveway were still flooding. I understand now why they have a 1.7...
