Stopped by OG with my boyfriend on an early Sunday afternoon. Lobby was empty when we showed up, lots of seating to choose from. Host leads us to a table, in a back corner, right beside a party of six with a small child... (indicated by the baby blanket they had spread on the ground, with toys for the child, I assume.) Asked the host if we could be seated at the table directly in front of where she seated us, that way we wouldn't be talking over the party of six. She allowed us to move to the table and let us know our server would be right over. Took awhile to decide our entrees, me: chicken scampi, as advertised. Boyfriend: chicken alfredo with added shrimp and no chives/green onion, but we placed our order and C, the server, quickly brought our drink from the bar.
Sometime during the time we put in our order, received our drinks, and were waiting for our salads, two other gentlemen were seated at the table directly in front of us. We ate our salads, worked on some breadsticks, and waited. Much to my annoyance, the two gentlemen in front of us were served their meal during this time. It's very hard not to notice these things, when it is right in front of you.
At this point, my boyfriend had already told me that he was getting agitated, and wanted to have our food to go once it was ready. After making eye contact with the server several times, he finally came to the area we were all seated in. He asked the two gentleman how their food was, and then moved to our table. The server then informed us there had been an issue with the chive-less food, but it would be out right away.
Still waiting for food, the manager John "enters the chat." John comes to the little room we are seated in just to the right of the lobby and again, asks the two gentleman how their food is. He makes the movements that lead me to think he will be stopping at our table next. He then abruptly pivots and leaves the room without acknowledging us, or the other party with the blanket baby.
Final straw. I get up. I approach John, verify that he is the manager, and lead him to a quiet corner in the lobby, away from the other guests. I quickly let John know my concerns, and ask him to make our food to go. "We will leave, because we do not feel wanted," were my exact words.
John complied and left to get our food. When he returned, he apologized for the way we felt. Let's skip that.
He also informed us he took care of the meal and drink. We thanked him, and he left. The server came back to the table a little bit after, and apologized again, and told us that they were having an issue with the scampi and he is so sorry he hadn't come by sooner to let us know.
Overall, atmosphere (quiet lobby, lots of available tables, clean) was nice. How John ended up handling the situation, it felt sincere. But the server not knowing which food item was "the issue" really leaves me with one thought process: to believe the way I interpreted the situation was not wrong at all. The feeling they didn't want us there was true. But the chicken scampi? Was...
Read moreWent here to celebrate our anniversary. Horrible experience. Service at the bar was slow and off-putting. Took a long time to get my cappuccino, which tasted like warm milk with no coffee, no spoon no sugar offered. Asked for sugar and a spoon & only received sugar. The bar tender also tried to charge us for a game we never played.
We were assured by staff they would come get us at the bar when our table was ready. That didn’t happen. After about 45-50 minutes I asked about our table. Staff then said they didn’t have our name on the list!
Super frustrating. Again, it was a special night out for us. We were celebrating our anniversary. The only reason we didn’t leave is because it was Saturday night and every other nice restaurant in town was already booked by this point.
After about an hour of waiting, we finally got seated and the table was dirty (besides being gross, that’s really not cool during Covid).
We waited even longer for a server to come to our table.
The cloth napkin (with silverware) had what looked like crusted tomato sauce on it (so gross - double not cool during Covid).
After another long wait, the waiter brought us the wrong food!! So we had to wait even more. By this time we were really frustrated. The manager came to our table and said the food will be here soon, that’s it.
When we got the bill, again, they tried to charge us for food we didn’t order and had not eaten! What the heck?!! One time in a night could be excusable but twice in one night on two separate bills?!!
After expressing dissatisfaction we were not offered any type of consolation, not even a free dessert, free drink, nothing.
If I owned a restaurant and one of my customers had that kind of experience, I would have given them the entire meal for free.
Since all these were staff errors, including taking our name off the list, I would have really appreciated some type of compensation to make things right.
Literally the worst service and restaurant experience I’ve ever had. For the time, money, and very poor customer service, there are much better places in Wichita to go out to eat.
Note: This was a Saturday night. They were busy. However, the multitude of issues and lack of customer care is not an excuse. We spent over $65 there that night. For that kind of money we could have had a much better experience at any number of restaurants in town. To be honest, it felt like this place didn’t seem to value the customer experience at all. My fiancé just wanted to treat me to a nice meal out for our anniversary, back at the same place we had our first date. We were both really disappointed and sorry we chose this place to celebrate our...
Read moreFor many years this was a restaurant that was top notch and highly desirable when I wanted something delicious and trusted I was going to leave full, fat, and happy. Italian food is a favorite for me so this was a place I would always recommend when choosing a perfect place to enjoy a date night with my wife. Unfortunately after a long while of not attending we visited this place and everything was entirely different. The waitress was sweet and apologetic and just doing the best she could but the management and upkeep of this place has tanked terribly. I couldn’t believe how disorganized everything was it was actually entertaining. The air conditioner didn’t work so there was this portable machine keeping things somewhat cool. We were seated and ordered drinks and I ordered tea and was surprised by the taste of lemonade when my drink arrived. My wife’s Dr Pepper had no soda flavor just carbonated water. My wife ordered her favorite calamari for an appetizer and the frying machine was down so we had limited options and that was out and so we order our food and it comes out and I’m eating my plate of food and some other guy comes back to give me my food while I’m eating my food so it must have been added twice somehow. The food was delicious as always so that was nice then it came to paying with the new table smart screens and the ticket did not even have my food on it so they didn’t even charge me after bringing two plates out to me! Since I’m not crooked I told the waitress to charge me and she printed up and manual ticket for us. Overall I could really tell there was a lot of employees that didn’t really have the proper training of everything they needed to deliver a pleasant meal experience to customers. I’m disappointed this restaurant has changed to this degree and likely will not return because of this. It is still expensive and there are many other wonderful places I’d rather spend my money at that will be well managed and organized as it should be. To be clear, this was the west side location about a month or so ago. I would still recommend this place because it’s still wonderful food if you enjoy...
