Hate to give a poor review as my wife and I have always loved this store but after our last experience my wife is pretty upset. First off she went in to buy a few septum rings and while speaking with a girl at the jewelry counter she was asking questions regarding what kind of metal they are to which the staff member told her they are all either medical grade surgical steel or titanium. My wife explained she had bought a few pieces from Spencer’s but that she was looking for a few more to which the girl then told her oh a lot of people have issues with Spencer’s jewelry and end up coming here for jewelry. She said a few other things speaking very rudely about Spencer’s and staff when my wife had a very pleasant experience there. But to continue a few days later after wearing a few pieces from Spencer’s then the one from this store she noticed after only a day of wearing one of the rings from Third planet her nose was green and irritated. She called the store and spoke to Juniper who kept giving her different answers on what type of metal there pieces were then she said sometimes the jewelry can do that and she also said after my wife explained the jewelry from Spencer’s she had in for over a week didn’t do that the girl began trash talking Spencer’s as well. Which at that point was sad considering the fact that the jewelry multiple store employees were trash talking was the one not to turn her nose green. The unfortunate thing is my wife was only visiting there as she has moved back with family while I am on rotation. She tried to ask Juniper what could be done to which she told my wife well I can exchange it ( although my wife now doesn’t trust the quality of the pieces there ) not to mention she is over 20 hours away which is not the stores fault BUT she was sold jewelry under false pretense that it was good quality and would not tarnish. I know this has been a long review and not all the details are in here but basically be careful of the jewelry purchased from here. Not to mention it was very unprofessional for staff to keep speaking ill of...
Read moreGreat store, awesome stuff!! Only complaint was the customer service I received (by 1 employee, the others were very friendly) My husband wanted to buy a tobacco item, so he was asked for his ID, which he provided. We are both over 30+ yrs old. I was NOT purchasing anything, but the girl asked for my ID too,. I did not bring my purse into the mall, so I did not have one (again I was not purchasing anything!!!) she refused to sell him the item because I did not have an ID. She was extremely rude about it and condescending in her replies as she rolled her eyes. I understand if I was purchasing the item I would need to provide proof that I’m 21, but I was not and the person who was did provide ID. Definitely disappointed in the customer service we received. I planned on buying a bunch of Christmas gifts here, but after this experience i don’t know that I’ll be shopping here again!
Edit- the employee did not ask for my ID to get into the 21+ section, she allowed me and my husband to walk around the entire area and when HE wanted to purchase an item that’s when we were both asked for our ID’s. Again I wasn’t purchasing anything my husbands was and he did provide an ID. I would have happily/understandably left the area (as I did not have an ID on me) BUT that is not what she asked to see my ID for. She knew I was not purchasing anything as I told her that multiple times. It’s unfortunate that she had to be so rude to her customers just to make her feel like she was in control and...
Read moreAn impressive gift store of Wichita, at the Town East Mall. I have been shopping at multiple locations of this locally owned business for many years, highlighted by some very unique jewelry and trinkets I’ve picked up for people, as well as buying incense, collectable rocks, and retro movie posters for myself. I’ve always liked checking out their knives and swords, the gems and minerals in the cases, and the smoke accessories in the back. This new location has exploded with inventory since moving to this larger shop, and I’m not convinced that is a good thing. This store is now overwhelming with products, doesn’t seem to be fully unpacked from the move even after months of being there, and doesn’t carry the charm of either of the two old locations. Even with a few outstanding employees that the store has, the vibe from the workers has really gone downhill here as my family and I have had some terrible service lately. This place now reminds me of a bloated gift shop at a tourist attraction, staffed by kids on summer break who could care less about customers. I could recommend Third Planet to those who want to see an interesting variety of gifts, but only encourage a visit when already planning to be at the East...
