Papa's Ice Cream & Treats — Restaurant in Wichita

We went here based on rave Facebook reviews and wonderful google reviews as well and boy were we disappointed. We got a pint of ice cream and the monster cookie mania extreme shake and they missed the mark. We have 4 kids, the older 2 are boys who frequently eat ice cream and the first thing out of one of their mouths after trying the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream was this tastes like great value ice cream. He said the chocolate pieces were flat just like great value as well. This is an ice cream that they frequently eat at home. We also got the monster cookie mania. I watched the person make it and was appalled that most of the ingredients I saw her use were things you could go buy at Walmart….great value frosting, pillsbury cookie dough, great value whipped topping, etc. . I guess I expected to come pay $12.95 for something premium, not something that I could go to Walmart and make myself far cheaper and have lots leftover for the next time. Normally I give a higher rating. But today I wanted more than just the delicious ice cream. I wanted a gourmet hot dog to go with my root beer float #nationalrootbeerfloatday! Unfortunately, we got 3 different hot dogs to try. But at about 6:30p on a Saturday evening, it sadly took about 20-30 min to get 3 hot dogs, one coming out about every 10 minutes. The first was decent, maybe just a little undercooked. But the last one we got, tasted like it hadn't cooked all the way through, was room temp at best (in an air conditioned room), and it had a dill pickle spear on it that was almost frozen it was so cold compared to the other toppings. There are better hot dogs at Freddy's and or Dog N Shake. Lesson learned.

This was my 1st time at this establishment, so take that into consideration when reading this. Everyone has a bad day, but way too many issues happened for a Friday night. Everyone and I mean everyone with little children decided that this was the place to let their kids do whatever they wanted. Running all around downstairs to upstairs and back again. When we got there they had 1 dog on the roller, so we went upstairs to find a place to sit. When it was done we heard a yell from downstairs that 1 was ready. 3 yells later we have our 5 dog order, so they apparently can only do 2 dogs at a time. They were out of forks, so we ate dogs with a spoon. They fully displayed an alcohol menu on a board and pamphlets, but everyone working were underage, so alcohol could not be served.
