Absolutely disappointed š. To start, The Wharf has outside and inside dining areas. Each section has their own menus and the table set up and ambiance is completely opposite of the other. For this visit we chose to sit outside... luckily we did because we certainly weren't "dressed" to sit inside. The evening view over the water was beautiful however, no where close to relaxing. We had to find our own seating (the entire area was jam packed). There was a band, people were singing and dancing and it was super loud too...we loved it!! We were greeted almost immediately upon sitting. Our waiter was THE BEST!! With the rush and amount of people, he was very kind, patient, smiled a lot and provided honest food option opinions - we should've went with everything he said. I guess since we sat outside we got silver plasticware and paper cups (inside tables have full place settings). Our table started with drinks and the Sticky Spicy Shrimp App (basically bang bang shrimp). The app was brought out within a minute of ordering... Wow!! We thought, that was awesome... but also a little to fast. They were so delicious we ordered another... again, this was brought out within a minute. Our drinks were awesome, so I'm sure any one ordered would be just as delicious. Next we ordered our food and once again, it ALL came out within minutes. Maybe it's just me but this isn't a fast food place so I'm really hoping that we didn't get frozen food or precooked meals etc... I ordered the blackened fish tacos. I was so excited for these but unfortunately ultimately disappointed. The flavor was great, unfortunately my fish was basically fish jerky and not fresh fish. The same thing happened with my friends meal. Her chicken was way overdone and dried up. She replaced it with the waiter recommended buttermilk chicken sandwich- which she and my son both loved. I ended up with a kids meal of tenders and truffle fries... I got that in like 1 min flat. My fries were cold and the tenders tasted worse than the kids freezer ones I have for quick eats. We also figured out that chicken was possibly the same chicken used on the returned chicken sandwich. My daughter ordered salmon over asparagus, garlic mashed, topped with lump crab and a hollandaise sauce. It was ok... the salmon lacked flavor though... maybe that's because it was served within 5 minutes. š certainly not the meal we expected for a couple 100 dollars. To end the night all 4 BR stalls were out of toilet paper. I would've gave 1 star had it not been for the beautiful view, wonderful waiter and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you were to judge a book by the cover the Warf may lead you inside believing your about to have a 4-5 star experience. The building and waterside dining with a view is nothing less than ideal..a coveted piece of real estate that is best deserving of decent food. One would never imagine that you could leave feeling nauseous after eating such low quality food. We sat out by the water and ordered the Nachos appetizer, a cup of New England clam chowder, a chicken sandwich with provolone cheese, broccoli rhab, roasted peppers. The sandwich came with fries. On arrival we dove into the nachos graving the clean freshness that usually comes with nachos advertising avacodo, sour cream, salsa, lettuce, sliced jalapeƱos etc. The dish was chips covered in cheese wiz, little shredded iceberg lettuce, a few slices of jalapeƱos, and a nauseating creamy sauce that was āI donāt know what exactly it was ā sauce. Blah Then came the soup with the look and taste of a generic can of soup from the local market. Blah! Our big surprise was biting into the āchickenā sandwich to discover it wasnāt chicken at all but old slices of pork . The roll was hard on one side indicating that it mustāve been stale. While the fries may have appeared to look semi inviting they were cold and limp. So disappointing to see this type of food served anywhere let alone in a good looking deceiving restaurant on the waters edge here in Wildwood. Itās not much more costly for a restaurants owner/owners to spend a little more on impressing itās Patrons. After all itās the Patrons that will be the deciding factor in the success of the restaurant. Treat Us Like Special Guests should be every restaurants goal. āBuild and they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery unwelcoming and over priced. This restaurant has two completely different menus served from two different kitchens. We had reservations for indoors and upon arrival the hostess told us we could just seat ourselves outside because the inside had no air conditioning. We attempted to find a seat outside but there weren't any available. We headed back to the hostess who extremely reluctantly found us a table inside. We probably should have just left at that point.
Our waitress was ok but unable to answer most of our questions about the menu. Once again we were told to just go outside and seat ourselves if we wanted something from the outside menu. If we weren't a party of 6 people at prime dinner time in Wildwood we probably would have just left to try and find somewhere else to eat. We ordered drinks and food. The appetizers came out at a decent pace and drinks were refilled although we were never told that refills are not free. We racked up about $25 just in soda and seltzer.
Our entrees were very underwhelming. Portions were large but I wasnt particularly motivated to eat a pound of mediocre (at best) food. My entree was described as having scallops in it but I only found 3 of the tiniest scallops ever. It may have actually been one normal scallop chopped up into pieces. We all ate whatever we could and just wanted to get out of there. Our waitress checked on us at one point while holding whatever food she was eating that night and talking with her mouth full. Classy. Nearly $200 later we paid and left very confused as to what we had just experienced over the last...
